This morning, The 3 was run in honor of Warm Springs Police Department (Georgia) Sergeant Chris Fisher, whose End of Watch is September 1st, 2026.

Sergeant Fisher was shot and killed while sitting in his patrol vehicle after completing a traffic stop. A man pulled alongside his cruiser and opened fire, killing Sergeant Fisher at the scene. The suspect is believed to have been a man Sergeant Fisher had arrested the week prior.

He is survived by his wife and two children. His father also served in law enforcement.

Sergeant Fisher is the first fallen officer outside of CPD that we have honored during The 3. Moving forward, once a month we will dedicate The 3 to a recent line-of-duty death from across the country, for as long as these tragedies continue to occur. Our other monthly run will continue to honor the fallen officers of CPD.

Through The 3, we hope to honor those we have lost in the past while also bringing awareness to the sacrifices still being made by law enforcement officers today.

Today, we ran for Sergeant Chris Fisher. Thank you for your service and ultimate sacrifice.

This evening’s The 3 was run in honor of CPD Officers Michael Smith and Roger Brown, whose End Of Watch was August 11th, 1976.

Officer Smith and Officer Brown were killed when their cruiser was intentionally struck head-on by a suspect fleeing from other officers. The suspect was also killed in the crash.

Officer Smith had served with the Columbus Division of Police for four years. Officer Brown had served for nine years and was survived by his wife and three children.

Tonight, we ran in remembrance of their service and sacrifice. We will never forget.
