I love how the book uses poetry, photography, paintings, song lyrics, and essays to explore saudade as both a bittersweet longing for what has gone and a deep yearning for an idealized experience that may never happen. Framing this as the first volume in the Untranslatable Words Series gives the project real depth, inviting readers to sit with the nuance and complexity of a state of being that so many people recognize but struggle to name.
It feels like both an anthology and a quiet meditation on how we carry people, places, identities, and time within us.
