Who Killed Roxanne Podcast

This is from a guy who has done some big podcasts on the NS and has a large following. I appreciate him featuring Roxanne’s story…

Happy to post this, and report that people are still finding the podcast. Thanks to everyone who has helped spread the word and thanks to https://www.millionpodcasts.com/cold-cases-podcasts/ for the tip of the hat....

This past Saturday a group of family and friends gathered to dedicate a new headstone at Roxanne's grave. I spoke briefly about Roxanne and got a few nods from people who actually knew her. This story is finally moving forward after a long time, hopefully providing some peace and comfort for those who remain, but we're not quite done yet.

EPISODE 9 of "Who Killed Roxanne?" is online.

The men accused of killing Roxanne Sharp in 1982 lived in this community after her death. They had neighbors. They had families. They moved around Covington as if nothing had happened.

In this episode, Charles asks a simple question: was Roxanne the only one who was assaulted?

He hears from the DA's office and speaks with an expert in s*xual assault cases who helps put into chilling context what we know — and what we may not know yet — about these men and their patterns.

But it's the conversation with Roxanne's family that will stick with you. After more than 40 years of waiting, they finally are starting to get some answers — and something they never thought they'd get: a day in court.

"Was Roxanne the Only One?" is available now wherever you listen to podcasts.

In the latest episode of the podcast we spoke about the two men who will handle the case. I feel like the prosecution of Roxanne's case is in good hands. Here's a little bit about each of the two prosecutors who have been named to try it.

Doug Freese serves as Chief of the Criminal Division for the 22nd Judicial District DA's Office under District Attorney Collin Sims — essentially the top trial attorney in the office. He has handled some of the most serious felony cases in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes, from major drug trafficking networks to complex financial crimes. He personally presented the indictments in Roxanne's case to the grand jury, and he will be at the helm when this finally goes to trial.

Gary Tromblay is an Assistant District Attorney with a track record that should give Roxanne's family and supporters real confidence. He has won convictions in domestic violence cases, child s*x crimes, and drug trafficking — often with juries that didn't need long to make up their minds. He is known for direct, plain-spoken courtroom work that cuts right to the truth. He co-presented the Roxanne Sharp indictments alongside Freese and will be by his side at trial.

After more than 40 years, Roxanne's case is finally in a courtroom. These are the two men who will be fighting for her.

A good explanation of Roxanne's story in an episode of Criminally Obsessed. Award winning journalist Anne Emerson speaks with the podcast's host, Charles Dowdy, about the podcast and how storytelling helped move forward a murder investigation that had sat still for more than four decades.
