Talley-Ho Farm
Our farm grew in 2022. We started doing mobile farm events to share our sweet farm animals. Animals are amazing therapy for people of all ages!
We are also a working farm raising our own pork, eggs & now milking our first Jersey cow! 🩷

Our sweet Maggie. Our Great Pyrenees is an essential part of our farm. She provides 24/7 protection around here. She defends our animals from all sorts of predators. I’m partial to female dogs. Even when we had Blue Heelers.
Facts about a Great Pyrenees:
1. Scent marking~they patrol the fence line to leave a scent warning
2. The booming bark~use a deep, resonant bark at night to warn predators away
3. Visual posturing ~stand tall and puff out their heavy coats to appear massive
4. Physical force~ fights aggressively to protect their pack of a predator ignores the warning
5. They work without human supervision. They actively patrol the farmer’s perimeter at night to assess threats independently. Then decide when to use a bark versus when to attack a predator.
6. They’re gentle with vulnerable stock. Very gentle with newborns, sick animals & small poultry.
7. Their thick, weather resistant double coat allows them to live comfortably outdoors year-round. It protects them from freezing winter snow and acting as insulation against summer heat.
8. Unlike herding dogs that move livestock around, the Great Pyrenees lives with the herd as a permanent member, defending them against predators such as coyotes, foxes, stray dogs & bobcats.

After my husband got diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer in June, I cancelled all my events for the rest of the year. This has always been something we did together (as long as he was off work). After doing that school event I did a few weeks ago I decided I would try to do a few sparingly around his treatments. So if you see me out & about that's why. I'm by no means going back to full speed, or even part time.
We have had the best customers that have been so understanding. We appreciate everyone that we've met along this journey. Past, present and future. We have loved so much doing this service for our community and many people outside of Cullman county. We've been as far north as Lawrenceburg, Tn and as far south as Shelby county and Woodstock, Al with our mobile petting farm. We take pride in our precious farm animals that are all spoiled.
We are praying 2027 is a much better year for our family! Please keep our family in your prayers. If you see my pink trailer out and about, give me a wave and honk!!
My boy Dallas giving me a smile. He loved his corn snack. 💙🐷

I did something today that I’ve not got to do since mid May. I got a random call yesterday morning to see if I had availability to bring an alpaca to Whitesburg Middle School. The kids have been learning about Peru & their sweet teacher had the idea to get an animal that is very important to that country. I was able to say yes!
So early this morning I hooked my trailer up, loaded the boys up and off we went. I’ll share more pictures later. Kuzco the llama & Fred the alpaca were a huge hit with everyone! It felt so good to be on the road & sharing one of my llamas & alpaca with their school. Thanks for inviting us to come visit!
Little pigs all in a row with one of the mommas. 🩷🐷
This is my big baby Dallas. He’s almost 3.5 years old. Listen close & you can hear him snore. He loves scratches & belly rubs. He’s a boar but he acts more like a little sweet puppy! He was almost in a coma loving his attention this morning. 💙🐷

Some goodbyes are harder than others. I got Elsie delivered to her new home last weekend. Thankful she’s gone to an awesome family eager to learn everything about having a dairy cow. And a bonus they have became friends of ours! They first bought some piglets from us back in March. And Elsie is bred again and will be having them a calf next year! Thanks to another friend that let Elsie join their farm to be exposed to her bull. 🐂
