7/8 Grade Parent meeting

Beginning Band Parent Meeting

We are excited to get the year started!

-Please return school-owned instruments (oboes, bassoons, low saxophones, horns, euphoniums, and tubas) this week. You may bring them during schedule pick-up today or to the band hall Wednesday morning. Please take out all of your personal items!
-Personal instruments can stay at home until we ask you to bring them.
-Our Band Parent Meeting is next Monday, August 17. Returning band families should attend the 7pm meeting in the cafeteria. Beginning Band families should attend the 6pm meeting.

Before the day is over, we want to wish all of our Band Dads a very Happy Father’s Day!

Time for an update:
The Wind Ensemble’s recording advanced to the Area round of the TMEA Honor Band contest and was heard today at the listening in Wylie. Our recording placed 5th overall and was one spot away from advancing to the State Prelims. We are extremely proud of our students’ work and effort this past year and celebrate their success!

We also want to celebrate that the Wind Ensemble Bands advanced to Area this past school year from WHS, Coleman, Finley, and Howard!! This is the first time that ALL FOUR campuses went to Area simultaneously! 🎉

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful Band Moms!
