Firefly Park, a 45 acre mixed-use development of class A office space, retail, restaurants, trails, ponds and so much more broke ground yesterday. There’s so much good happening in Frisco and this development is just one of many reasons Frisco remains the best place to live, work, and play.

Every year our city comes together in the spirit of unity to celebrate and honor those who have sacrificed, served, and honored their country.  Memorial Day is not about being red or blue; it’s about the sacrifices made for the red, white, and blue.  🇺🇸

FRISCO LAUNCHES RIDESHARE SERVICE ‘GOZONE’
 
(May 4, 2026) Beginning May 5,Frisco’s new on-demand, rideshare service provides residents and visitors a convenient way to get around the central part of our city. GoZone connects riders to weekday destinations like work or school. GoZone is also available for running errands.

The new rideshare service is a partnership between the City of Frisco and the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA).
 
“When people think about public transit, often times they think about a bus or train,” said Paul Cristina, CEO, DCTA.  “But what makes microtransit so successful is the fact it gets people from where they are to where they want to go.”
 
As many as twenty rideshare GoZone vans will move riders through the ‘Zone’, which covers about a third of Frisco.

I’ve known John Keating for many years. He’s a friend and former city council colleague.  

Here’s what I’ve seen in my interactions with John Keating over the years...and this is not campaign rhetoric nor spin...this is REAL:

1) He knows this city very well.  He knows the city staff, the charter, the policies, the systems, zoning case history, budget details, and the “why” behind many critical decisions in this city.  He was the historian of our city council for years.  No one has served as a city council member longer than John.  Frisco is a fast growing and complex city; it’s not the place for an inexperienced leader to learn on the job.  Experience matters...I dare say relevant experience matters!

2) John loves Frisco!  John has tirelessly served the residents of this city for over a decade. There’s probably not an annual event or celebration that he hasn’t attended multiple times over the years...and not just during campaign season. He has worked to ensure veterans in this city were honored and celebrated. No one can question Keating’s commitment to this city.

3) John is inclusive.  It doesn’t matter your race nor ethnicity; you feel seen and heard by John Keating.  As the only African American and person of color on our city council for years; John has always been by my side showing an openness to lean in and learn from a different perspective. He’s not afraid to be uncomfortable; and he’s not uncomfortable with diversity.

I’ve been asked many times over the last few weeks who I support for mayor and who I’d like to serve with, my answer is resounding: “John Keating is my #1 choice for Frisco’s Mayor!”

The Frisco Boys & Girls Club teamed up with Jack & Jill to present a “Little Library” of children’s books to borrow for free in the community. I’m proud of the continual efforts of both of these organizations in their unwavering support of the youth in our city.

We are in a very interesting season in which everyone is putting forth their version of truth.  That’s called campaign season in Frisco! It’s sometimes hard for residents to decipher between truth and campaign spin.  I can only share my personal experience with Laura Rummel.  No spin...just my own experience.  I have served on our city council since 2021 and have had the opportunity to see Laura Rummel in action in both public settings and in private sessions.  She cares deeply for this community.  Her dedication and commitment to the council and residents of this city are unmatched.  And finally and most importantly, she leads with ethics and integrity. Laura has come into her own on council; first as a fierce pet advocate but now as a seasoned council member who has broad impact across all aspects of city government.  I fully without hesitation endorse and support Laura Rummel to retain her seat on our city council.

Kaleidoscope Park continues to show versatility in activation! Celebrated Resurrection Day early just as the sun rose this morning in Frisco with residents from New Life Community & Life-Changing Faith churches.   Thanks to the churches, volunteers, and Kaleidoscope park team for supporting this incredible Easter worship service.

Frisco is special! Frisco is filled with really good people who want the best for their city. Sometimes it’s easy to get distracted by the negativity that can often ring so loudly and cause you to feel hopeless and think that all is lost.  News flash...All is not lost in Frisco! We are a strong and resilient community.  The only thing overtaking us is Unity and Prosperity. We are a city on a hill whose light may dim but will never be cast out. And nights like last night serve as a strong reminder of what makes Frisco so special...the people! I sat at a table with pioneers who built this city like George Purefoy and Henry Hill.  It’s their humility and genuine care for this city that helped to define the culture of Frisco we enjoy today. Yes, we do live in TX, so we may experience some shifting soil in Frisco, but nothing will shake the foundation of Frisco, TX. It was built to last! Congratulations to the Frisco Chamber for bringing us all together at the annual gala to celebrate what makes us special and yes what also makes us the envy of so many...our loving, welcoming, and prosperous community.  Welcome to Frisco!

Frisco’s 124th birthday celebration bought out pioneers of the city to include former Mayor Mike Simpson and Mr Dunkin whose family settled on North County Rd in 1862.

Proud to live in and serve a city that recognizes and celebrates the different cultures that make up the faces of Frisco. Frisco hosted its 6th Annual Asian Lunar New Year celebration yesterday!
