Join me for training and practice in deep rest.

The Sacred Art of Savasana: Profound Rest for Challenging Times

This 16-hour teacher training equips facilitators to teach one of the most needed skills in yoga right now: how to guide people into true rest.

We live in a culture — and are moving through a moment — defined by chronic stress, overstimulation, and nervous systems that rarely get the chance to fully power down. Rest is no longer a luxury; it’s a physiological necessity, and most people have simply lost the ability to access it on their own. That’s where skilled teachers come in. Holding space for deep rest is its own discipline — it takes trauma-informed awareness, a steady presence, and the ability to create real safety in a room — and it deserves the same rigor and intention we bring to teaching a strong asana class.

This training prepares facilitators to teach restorative rest practices with confidence, create safe and trauma-informed environments, and guide extended Savasana sessions grounded in both yogic philosophy and modern nervous system science.

Participants learn:

Rest Physiology and Nervous System Literacy

Trauma-Sensitive Language

Cueing Fundamentals

Space-Holding and Energy Modulation

Sequencing and Class Structure

Ethics and Scope of Practice

Hands-Off and Minimal-Touch Approaches

How to Guide Long-Form Savasana Experiences

Grateful for time on my mat at The Monarch in Hart this morning with Nathanael Rosenheim

I love taking classes with newbie teachers… the enthusiasm and energy that comes with being a freshly minted teacher is so much fun. Lovely movement and community here in Hart Township. Cindy Beth Davis-Dykema has started something really special here.
