When I first started my business, I chose the name based on the purpose it represented. âPureSelf Home-based Wellness.â Most people see the word âpureâ & think innocent, virtuous, or far from imperfection. But thatâs not what it means for my business. Thatâs why itâs not just âPure,â itâs actually âPureSelfâ, as in being unapologetically true to yourself. In all aspects. Not just in one way, but embracing all those different sides of yourself & understanding that they can all co-exist within you.
Thatâs where wellness plays a part. Balance is key to my business & its purpose. I want to show that you can be authentic & multifaceted while still improving your well being in ways that are best suited for you. You can do it at home too! You donât need a fancy gym, a costly counselor, a dramatic change in personality, or to be ashamed of who you are. My business is just that!
Iâve also further extended that purpose into skincare, where my body butters play a role as another form of self care. I donât have to have a bunch of different businesses for every idea I have. They can all be integrated into this one, because they all connect back to the same purpose.. helping people embrace themselves while finding their own ways to care for themselves. đ

Youâve probably been moisturizing your skin for years. But⊠do you actually know what your moisturizer is supposed to be doing?
Because feeling soft immediately after applying it doesnât tell you the whole story.
Thereâs a little more going on beneath the surface and once you understand it, you may never look at your moisturizer the same way again.
Read through this. Then look at the moisturizer sitting in your bathroom. Ask yourself: âIs it actually doing the job I think it is?â
Save this for your next body-care shopping trip. đ€

You may moisturize every day⊠so why does your skin still feel dry?
It might not be that you need more moisturizer. It may be that your routine isnât giving your skin what it needs to stay moisturized.
Thatâs one of the reasons I formulated PureSelf Whipped Body Butter differently.
Rich butters + carefully selected oils + a texture that melts into the skin.
Moisturize. Seal. Keep your softness.
Your body-care routine deserves more than a pretty jar.

Sometimes the most important things you take with you canât fit in a suitcase. đż

ITâS NOT ALWAYS WHATâS AROUND YOU.
Itâs not the kids.
Itâs not the job.
Itâs not the nagging neighbor.
Itâs not always the house.
Sometimes what youâre feeling is accumulated stress.
When youâre constantly dealing with responsibilities, noise, demands, and stimulation, your mind and body can become overwhelmed. Then even small things can feel unbearable.
Before assuming you need to change everything around you, ask yourself:
Have I rested?
Have I eaten well?
Have I had quiet time?
Have I moved my body?
Have I had time to myself?
Have I been carrying something emotionally?
Sometimes the solution isnât escaping your entire life.
Sometimes your body is asking you to pause, reset, and reconnect with yourself. Go inside before blaming the outside. đ
You deserve to experience the life youâre working so hard to build! đ Donât forget to take care of yourself along the way.

Have you ever looked at your circumstances and wondered how anything beautiful could possibly grow from them? đż
This image was actually taken right in my own yard. I happened to notice the way these vines had grown around this weathered structure, and it caught me by surprise. I had to stop and capture the beauty because there was something so meaningful about seeing life flourish in a place that looked far from perfect.
What makes it even more meaningful is that this used to be a house. Today, it serves as a storage space. Its purpose changed, its appearance changed, and its story continuedâbut life still found a way to grow around it.
And maybe that applies to you, too.
You may be in a season that looks nothing like where you thought youâd be. Maybe youâre starting over, healing, rebuilding, feeling stuck, or realizing that your life is taking a different shape than you expected.
But a change in circumstances doesnât mean your story has lost its purpose.
This is your sign to keep growing, even here. đ±
You donât need perfect conditions to become something beautiful. Sometimes, growth happens right in the middle of the places and seasons we thought were the least likely to produce it.
Keep growing. Keep learning. Keep becoming. đ€

BUSINESS OWNERS: YOU COULD BE MISSING TAX DEDUCTIONS! đ§Ÿđ°
If you spend money to operate your business, donât assume itâs just money gone. Some qualifying business expenses may be deductible from your business income, potentially reducing the amount of income you pay tax on.
Here are everyday expenses you should be tracking:
đ (Business mileage)
Driving to pick up supplies, make deliveries, meet clients, attend business meetings, or handle other business-related errands.
đŠ (Supplies & inventory)
Ingredients, products, packaging, labels, shipping materials, office supplies, and other qualifying business supplies.
đ± (Software & subscriptions)
Website platforms, design software, scheduling tools, bookkeeping programs, and other business services.
đŁ (Marketing & advertising)
Business cards, flyers, online ads, promotional materials, photography, and other qualifying marketing costs.
đ» (Equipment)
Computers, printers, cameras, machinery, and other business equipment may qualify for deductions or depreciation depending on the item and your circumstances.
đ (Home office)
If you meet the IRS requirements for a qualifying home office, you may be able to deduct certain related expenses.
đ (Education & professional services)
Certain business-related education, books, training, accounting, legal services, and professional assistance may qualify.
đł (Business fees)
Payment processing fees, certain banking fees, marketplace fees, and other costs of operating your business can add up.
- The key: TRACK EVERYTHING. -
Keep your receipts. Record your mileage. Document what you bought, how much you paid, when you paid it, and how it was used for your business.
Donât wait until tax season trying to reconstruct your entire year!

5 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting a Product Business đ„„
1. Know your numbers BEFORE you buy inventory.
Your product cost isnât your only expense. Factor in packaging, labels, shipping supplies, platform fees, and everything else that goes into getting that product into a customerâs hands.
2. Test your packaging before buying in bulk.
A container or label can look perfect online and be completely different in real life. Order samples and test them before spending money on hundreds of units.
3. Validate demand before investing heavily.
Just because you love your product doesnât mean people will buy it. Test your idea, get feedback, and see whether thereâs genuine interest before going all in.
4. Understand your actual profit margin.
Selling a product for $20 doesnât mean you made $20. Know exactly what it costs you to produce, package, sell, and deliver each unit so you know what youâre actually earning.
5. Donât let perfection keep you from launching.
Your first product probably wonât be perfectâand thatâs okay. Launch, pay attention to what customers respond to, improve your process, and keep building.
