DFW Play

TORI completed its final run this weekend. The space may have fallen quiet, but the journey remains, etched in our hearts.

Sometimes, it’s not the destination but the becoming and the company, the moments of discovery, the shared struggles, the laughter, and the people who make the road worth taking. Much like life itself.

We feel fortunate to have a passionate community that nurtures not just the art, but each other. A space to experiment, stumble, discover, and grow together.

Congratulations to Sharbari Dey for leading this experimental work along with all the co- creators. Grateful for the art we made, the bonds we forged, and the journey that will stay with us long after the curtain falls.

Come watch TORI - a very different kind of theater experience.

GOTROHEEN

Next Roadshow: FestivET in Bethesda, MD! Ebong TheatriX hosts Gotroheen for one afternoon in the DMV area. Watch the all the festival plays on Sep 12th & 13th.

We don't usually just remount a play; we are picking apart the seams. Rehearsals pull out unwritten motives, buried tensions, and dynamic shifts in the room that never happen the same way twice.

Come see what happens.

Why do we workshop? Because craft is more than performance. It is excavation.

What memory are we reaching for? What has stayed constant as everything else changed?

A broken watch meets Erich Segal’s Love Story. A rhino from Kaziranga crosses paths with a murukku maker. Fragments collide. Memories resurface. Stories take new shape.

TORI is an exploration of what we carry, what we remember, and what refuses to leave us.

Come. Step in. Immerse yourself.

September 19. 11 AM to 12:30PM

Tori: The Boat of Memory is an exciting experiment at a frontier we haven’t explored yet.

A vessel carrying memories, stories, and fragments of lives across uncertain waters… journeying between what we leave behind and what we become. Inspired by our personal journeys from South Asia, Tori invites you into an immersive world where memory moves, culture transforms, and stories find new shores.

SEP 19. 11:00AM

Come, step in, and be part of the journey.

We’re excited to share that our friends at Ebong Theatrix are bringing Gotroheen to FestivET in DC area on September 12th!

Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge — reimagined in the heart of New York's Bangladeshi immigrant community. Gotroheen, presented by DFW Play of Dallas, is a powerful Bengali-language adaptation by Rudraprasad Sengupta, directed by Rajarshi Bhattacharyya.

Set in Jackson Heights, the play follows Salek, a proud Bangladeshi grocer whose world unravels when family loyalty collides with jealousy and obsession — with devastating consequences.

Performed in Bengali with English supertitles.

Gotroheen is part of our Day 1 program on September 12, alongside the world premiere of our own Blue Lotus Burning.
