Behind the Scenes: Bringing a Classic to Life
Pooh and friends are getting ready for the road!
This behind-the-scenes rehearsal photo captures our newest marionette cast as they prepare for their upcoming tour. What began as an idea six months ago evolved into hundreds of hours of design, carving, fabrication, painting, costuming, stringing, and rehearsal to bring nine beloved storybook characters to life on stage.
Every puppet was handcrafted using traditional marionette techniques and a variety of materials, including basswood, seven-layer dollhouse plywood, #2 Styrofoam board, fleece cloth, flocking, and fur.
