Zeke laid the boom 💪 November 2, 2013 Ross-Ade Stadium - West Lafayette, Indiana Before Ezekiel Elliott became one of the most dominant running backs in college football, he was making plays on special teams. During Ohio State’s matchup with Purdue, true freshman Zeke lined up on kickoff coverage. Raheem Mostert — one of the fastest players on the field — took the return. Then Elliott came flying in. BOOM. Zeke absolutely ERASED Mostert with a massive hit, delivering one of the most memorable freshman plays of his Ohio State career. The crazy part? Mostert would go on to become one of the NFL’s fastest and most explosive running backs. But on this play, freshman Ezekiel Elliott showed he wasn’t afraid of anybody. Zeke was different. 🔥 (Via CFB247/X) 08/25/2026
