Charity golf scrambles always have those contest holes that make you laugh.

On this one, we had to hit driver while wearing a firefighter jacket.

At first, I thought it was just a fun challenge. Then I put the jacket on.

It was way heavier than I expected.

But the more I stood there, surrounded by American flags, military branch flags, veterans, first responders, and men I deeply respect, the more that weight started to mean something.

I was playing in support of the Project, a nonprofit fighting traumatic brain injuries for veterans and first responders. I had the honor of playing alongside two of the finest veterans I know, and Gus Cabarcas, (who is also retired NYPD officer whose story from serving during 9/11 is heartbreaking and humbling.)

Throughout the day, I heard stories of veterans who fought, veterans who carry Purple Hearts, and veterans who know firsthand that freedom has never been free.

But what I saw most was pride.

Pride in our country.
Pride in our freedom.
Pride in the responsibility to serve.
Pride in defending the rights and dreams so many of us get to wake up and pursue every day.

That firefighter jacket was heavy.

But not nearly as heavy as the cost carried by the men and women who protect us, fight for us, die for us, and serve us.

Thank a veteran, active service member, or first responder today.

And don’t just say it.

Mean it.

Your mind might tell you you're too tired, but often it's just a voice trying to keep you in your comfort zone. Push past that feeling, keep going, and you'll outlast the urge to quit. Growth happens when you silence those voices and keep moving.

Young me wanted to save the world like He-Man.

I had no idea what that meant back then. I just knew I wanted to be strong. I wanted to protect people. I wanted to stand for something good.

The adult version of me learned that changing the world doesn’t always look like swinging a sword.

Sometimes it looks like standing on a stage and helping someone believe in themselves again.

Sometimes it looks like writing the words somebody needed on the day they almost gave up.

Sometimes it looks like becoming the person you once needed.

That little kid had big dreams.

And I think he’d be proud to know we didn’t outgrow them.

We just found a better way to fight.

To truly excel, you must face the toughest battle: yourself. The person in the mirror knows all your weaknesses, but they don't know your heart. Be willing to confront your fears and take back control.

Happy Kentucky Derby Day! Did you know the fastest horse of all time was Secretariat, in 1973?! With all the advances in technology and veterinary science, why was he still the fastest? The answer will help you in your journey.

Horses haven't gotten faster in decades. The fastest ever, Secretariat, set a record in 1973. The reason? He had an unusually large heart, twice the size of a normal horse's. This is a lesson for us all. Bring your biggest heart to everything you do.

We all have goals, but do your actions match your aspirations? It takes an 'all in' mentality to achieve what you truly desire. Are you willing to put your foot on the gas and never let go until you reach the finish line?

Out here with people who know how to win… and more importantly, know when to pause and enjoy it.

Because what’s the point of building a life you’re proud of if you never take time to live it?

No suits. No meetings. Just water, good energy, and a reminder that success isn’t just measured in numbers… it’s measured in moments like this.

High achievers don’t just grind — they reset, recharge, and reconnect.

Catch the fish. Catch your breath. Catch the moment.

The quote that hits you hardest is probably the one you needed most.

These aren't just words. They're reminders that you already have everything inside you to win. You just have to decide to use it.

Swipe through. Save the one that hits. Come back to it when life gets loud.

When you want something but reality hits hard, try this: tell yourself you can quit in 15 minutes. Then, when those 15 minutes pass, tell yourself again. Little by little, you'll find yourself at the finish line before you even realized it. Keep going.
