Details Exaggerated

POV: You said “keep the birthday decorations simple.”

Your guests heard: “MAKE THEM REMEMBER THIS FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS.”

Setting up balloon decor for an event? A few things are worth knowing before you get to the fun part.

Buy your balloons close to the actual event date. Latex balloons lose their shine and start shrinking within a day or two, earlier than most people think.
Keep them out of direct sun and away from heat. Warm air makes balloons expand, and they can pop out of nowhere, especially outdoors.

If it doesn't need to float, skip the helium and use a hand pump instead. It's cheaper, and honestly gives you more control over how big things end up.
Anchor everything with weighted bases, not just tape or string, especially near doorways or anywhere with a lot of foot traffic.

Once you're past a few clusters, garlands, balloon walls, full event installs, that's usually where DIY starts getting tricky. Details Exaggerated, based in Frisco, TX, works with clients on everything from centerpieces to full garlands and balloon walls, built around whatever the event actually needs.

Balloon columns are honestly one of the easier DIY decor projects to start with, if you want to give it a shot. A few tips that actually help: inflate balloons to matching sizes so the column looks even, not lopsided. Use a base weight or stand, skip taping balloons directly to a wall or floor. Alternate colors in a pattern before you start stacking, since fixing the order partway through gets messy fast. And build in a cool, shaded spot if you can. Heat makes latex expand and pop sooner than you'd expect.

That said, getting the proportions, spacing, and stability just right takes some practice. Details Exaggerated Events and Balloons provides balloon columns for events in Frisco, TX, for anyone who'd rather just leave the setup to someone who does this regularly.

Sometimes the best connections happen when you least expect them. 🎈💕

One evening while serving a wonderful family at Salute, I happened to share that outside of the restaurant, I own Details Exaggerated Balloons.

Well… lo and behold, when it was time to celebrate their daughter’s 9th birthday, they remembered me! 💗

And THIS is what we created for her special day. ✨

A beautiful pink Chiara backdrop, a glowing Happy Birthday neon sign, and an organic balloon garland filled with gorgeous shades of pink, pearl accents and touches of gold — all designed to make turning NINE feel extra special. 🎀🎈

I love when a simple conversation turns into an opportunity to help a family celebrate one of life’s milestones. Thank you for trusting Details Exaggerated Balloons with her big day!

16 is coming in HOT! ⚾️💵🎈

When one of our regular clients called us to help celebrate a very special 16th birthday, we already knew baseball had to be front and center!

We created this custom Money Pop Balloon for a young man who loves baseball — complete with his favorite colors, baseball details, a BIG 16 and, of course, the part every 16-year-old can appreciate… MONEY! 💵😂

One of the best parts of what we do is getting to celebrate with the same families again and again. Birthdays turn into graduations, graduations turn into weddings, and somehow we get invited along for the ride. ❤️

Thank you for continuing to trust Details Exaggerated Balloons with your family’s special moments.

Not Famous but Known®… and now officially exaggerated. 🎈🥯

We reached out to PopUp Bagels, they said YES to balloons, and we were thrilled to bring a little Air, Art & Awe to their front door!

These organic balloon columns were designed to complement their signature look and give their storefront a little extra POP. 🎈

And because decorating the place apparently wasn’t enough of a treat, they sent me home with a complimentary bagel and schmear. Let me tell you — I get the hype! The bagel was SO good, and that chive schmear? Definitely not your ordinary cream cheese. 😋

With so many fun schmear flavors — including collaborations like their cinnamon-sugar schmear with La La Land — PopUp Bagels definitely knows how to do things differently.

Thank you, PopUp Bagels, for trusting Details Exaggerated Balloons with your storefront. We loved being a small part of welcoming you to the neighborhood! 🖤🤎🤍

Now THAT’S what we call a blowout. 💛🎈

We gave Drybar Prosper a little extra volume for their Ribbon-Cutting this morning — because around here, we believe the balloons should be just as fabulous as the hair. 😉

That iconic Drybar yellow, crisp white, and a whole lot of balloon drama made the perfect welcome to the neighborhood.

Welcome to Prosper, Drybar! 💛
