Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there — including to my own dad, the Best of the Best.

For years and years and years, this great man has tirelessly and selflessly planted trees that many others rest under the shade of — none moreso than me and my brother.

And yes — he used to drive us to school in the Wienermobile.

As severe weather and heavy rainfall move across our region this morning, I encourage everyone to stay weather aware and use caution. If you don’t have to be on the roads, please stay home and avoid driving through flooded areas. It only takes a small amount of moving water to create a dangerous situation.

I’m grateful for the first responders, law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency personnel, and utility crews who are working to keep our communities safe during this weather event.

Preparedness Tips for Texans

Over the past few weeks, I have had a number of conversations with Jewish students and families who have reported continued antisemitic behaviors and incidents in Plano ISD. Though I appreciate that Plano ISD has responded to and addressed many past incidents of antisemitism within the district, reports of ongoing antisemitic attitudes and actions are deeply troubling and completely unacceptable. As I’ve said before, there is no place and no space and no grace for antisemitism. Not in our schools, not in our communities, and not anywhere in the State of Texas. Every student deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued — and their families do too. Acts of hatred, intimidation, or discrimination directed at our Jewish neighbors must be taken seriously and handled accordingly — and I and other state and federal officials, including our next Attorney General Mayes Middleton, continue to keep a watchful eye to make sure that’s the case. We must stand united in condemning antisemitism in all its forms and remain vigilant in defending the dignity and safety of every member of our community.

Organized retail theft is far more than shoplifting. These criminal networks hurt our Texas businesses, drive up costs for families, and fuel other serious criminal activity.

That’s why I was proud to help pass SB 1300 in 2025 to give law enforcement and prosecutors stronger tools to crack down on these operations.

Earlier this month, Texas secured its first conviction under the law, resulting in a 45-year prison sentence for a repeat offender with multiple outstanding felony warrants across our region.

The message is simple: if you target Texas businesses, the consequences will be far more painful than stepping on a Lego.

Tarrant County Lego thief given lengthy prison sentence A man arrested last year who was involved in a Lego theft ring was found guilty by a Tarrant County jury last week, and will spend the next 45 years in jail.

As we approach the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence — and the birth of our great Nation — our family invites our friends & neighbors to come by our house and grab a complimentary copy of the historic document, complete with a short biography of each of its signers. We’re doing our part to celebrate, reflect and honor the men and women who pledged and risked everything to secure the freedoms we enjoy today!

A beautiful evening with some of our dearest and best friends and fellow patriots at the Convention in Houston. These folks are the best of the best — and it’s a true joy for us to get to do politics and policy and life with them.
