History in the making in Angola. 🇦🇴

Last year at the inaugural DSC Summer Expo, the reopening of Angola to legal, regulated hunting was announced, and DSC had the honor of auctioning the country’s first sanctioned hunt in 18 years. Funds raised from that auction went directly to the Angola Hunters Association to support its work in rebuilding a sustainable hunting program.

Now, that historic hunt is underway.

DSC President Rick Warren and Life Member J.D. Yates traveled to Angola as part of the first group of hunters to return, joining a milestone nearly two decades in the making. The group has already found success in the field while being hosted by the Angola Hunters Association and experiencing firsthand the work being done to rebuild a sustainable hunting program.

This is what makes moments like last summer’s announcement so meaningful—turning partnerships and conversations into action on the ground.

Congratulations to Rick, J.D., and the entire group on being part of this historic return of legal, regulated hunting to Angola. We’re excited to follow along as a new chapter for hunting, conservation, and sustainable use begins. 🇦🇴🌍

An important development in the fight against New World screwworm.

The FDA has issued an Emergency Use Authorization for CLiK Extra wound spray to help prevent New World screwworm infestations in livestock and select wildlife species, including deer, elk, bighorn sheep, American bison, and Sonoran pronghorn.

As efforts continue to address this growing threat, DSC remains committed to keeping our members informed on developments that impact wildlife, livestock, and conservation across North America.

FDA Issues Emergency Use Authorization for Drug to Prevent New World Screwworm in Multiple Species, Including Sheep, Cattle, Goats, and Swine FDA today issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for CLiK Extra (dicyclanil topical suspension) wound spray for application on or around wounds for the prevention of New World screwworm (NWS) infestations (myiasis).

Hunting and conservation go hand in hand. 🌍

Hear from Mark Haldane of Zambeze Delta Safaris as he shares the incredible story of wildlife conservation in Mozambique and the role sustainable hunting has played in restoring and protecting this wild landscape.

Mark is a longtime DSC and DSC Foundation supporter, Life Member, exhibitor, and 2022 DSC Outfitter of the Year, and his work is a powerful example of conservation in action.

The video also highlights the helicopter made possible through support from the DSC Foundation, helping conservation teams conserve wildlife, monitor habitat, and expand their impact on the ground.

Screwworm isn't just a livestock problem — it's a wildlife problem. At the DSC Summer Expo, we convened TPWD's Kory Gann, USDA Undersecretary Dudley Hoskins, APHIS Associate Administrator RADM Michael Schmoyer, and DOI Deputy Assistant Secretary Dr. Jenifer Chatfield for a direct, unscripted exchange with hunters and exhibitors.
