An estimated 3 billion people are living without access to the gospel. This means that for generations, families have remained trapped in darkness—without hope and peace. By equipping and mobilizing local leaders, Empower One church planters are taking the gospel back into their own neighborhoods and surrounding communities—where they’re better missionaries than we could ever be. It’s within this shared culture and language that the gospel is reaching people who never had the opportunity to choose Jesus.
Coming to NEATS is not always easy.
It can mean a long journey. It can be expensive. For some students, it means facing resistance.
But Gormon was willing to make the sacrifices, have the hard conversations, and persevere towards his calling.
Now, he is a student at NEATS, learning about God and preparing to serve Him.

Bibi Agnes came to NEATS to prepare for women & children’s ministry.
She was active in her church at home in Yambio. Her pastor saw the potential in her to lead and help shape the women and children in their community, so he recommended her for admission to NEATS.
When she graduates, she plans to return home to teach and disciple the women and children there.

Meet James Vita John, a student at NEATS.
He is passionate about taking what he learns in his classes back to his home in Morobo County.
After completing his course, he will have studied the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and learned practical ministry & mission skills.

And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?”
God is making His name known in Northeast Africa.
He is saving many.
He is sending many to bring good news.
Praise the Lord for his faithfulness!

The geographic center of Christianity is moving from Western Europe to sub-Saharan Africa: right next to the 10/40 window.
This is an incredible opportunity to partner with the people God has already placed right next door.
The African Church is full of faith, resilience, and capable men and women to be deployed for the mission.
It’s easier for them to learn the language.
They already understand the culture.
They don’t have to overcome as much distrust as Westerners.
Near Culture mission work trains and sends believers from cultures near to the places they are going to work.
This is central to Empower One’s strategy as we empower local believers through Northeast Africa Theological Seminary (NEATS).
Future missionaries and leaders are being equipped and sent.
And as they go out, it multiplies. It becomes a movement.

He’s sharing with us about his calling, and how NEATS is helping him prepare to serve God in his home village.

The students, alumni, and staff of NEATS help move the ministry forward every day.
The men and women trained there are the church planters, evangelists, and ministry leaders who serve in the field and reach their communities.
That's where Empowerment Day comes in: September 17! 🗓
By that date, we hope to raise $382,000 to fully fund NEATS’ 2027 operations.
This year, every gift will be matched up to $70,000, giving your generosity twice the impact. 💥
This includes everything necessary to train a full class of students for ministry, for all of 2027: transportation, room and board, materials, and staff salaries.
It’s a big goal, but it’s not too big for God.
🔹 $90 covers one month of a student's training.
🔹 $400 covers one professor’s salary for a month.
🔹 $1,075 sponsors a student for one full year of biblical and ministry training.
🔹 $4,300 fully sponsors a student’s four-year Diploma in Theology, preparing them for a lifetime of Gospel ministry.

NEATS, or Northeast Africa Theological Seminary, is our seminary in Kajo Keji, South Sudan.
Over 150 men and women from South Sudan, Sudan, and beyond are currently enrolled, training in biblical doctrine, ministry, and church planting.
