Does your lawn make you smile? π
It's a small thing, honestly. Green out front, a little shade, a quiet street. Doesn't fix your week. But it does make pulling in at the end of the day feel a little better than it did before.
That's worth taking care of. π±
Chorbie's Lawn of the Week π
Under a live oak that big, most yards give up. This one didn't.
Third week of September and still holding its color. Somebody's been paying attention. π±

We think it's time for you to fall in love with your lawn again. π±
There was a stretch where people actually sat out front. Watered in the evening, waved at whoever walked by, took a little pride in the strip of green between the porch and the sidewalk. Somewhere along the way the lawn turned into another chore on a Saturday list.
It doesn't have to be. This one's in Dallas β St. Augustine, mature shade, thick as carpet β and it looks like that because somebody's been taking care of it season after season. That's all it is. No secret.
Turn your sound on for this one.
Tom sent this over this morning and we all just kind of stood around looking at it. π±
This is a St. Augustine lawn in Dallas, and look at where it's growing β under mature trees, dappled shade most of the day. That's the whole reason St. Augustine earns its keep down here. Put Bermuda under that canopy and you'd be looking at thin, patchy, bare-dirt-by-August. St. Augustine takes the shade and stays thick.
Tom's been on this route long enough to know every yard on it. He notices when something's off, and he notices when something's right. This one's right.
Big thanks to the homeowner for letting us keep it looking like this. Lawns like this don't happen by accident β they happen because somebody cared for a long time, season after season.
Nice work, Tom. Nice lawn, Dallas.
A pinwheel a day keeps the bunnies away. π°
The movement, the shine, the little noise... rabbits read it as "something's over there" and go eat someone else's lovely lawn.
Tip? Use metal, not paper. Move it every couple weeks or they'll figure you out and be back for breakfast.
Four dollars. Weirdly effective. π±
New hire orientation, day one. πͺΏ
Showed up before us. Asks a lot of questions. Doesn't take a lunch. Has strong opinions about our truck height. We gave him a hat and he hasn't taken it off since.
Only problem: nobody got his name on the paperwork.
We tried to name him Gary the Gander but we already have a Gary and he's apparently not chill with that π so.... we're putting it to the opinion that actually matters... yours. Drop a name in the comments!
