Juneteenth is not just a celebration, it is a call to conscience. โ๐ฝ
On this day in 1865, freedom finally reached those who had been denied it the longest. And yet, the truth remainsโฆfreedom delayed was not full freedom, and the promise of justice is still unfinished.
As voting rights are challenged ๐ณ๏ธ, Black history is erased from classrooms ๐, and equity efforts are silenced, Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is not something we simply remember. It is something we must protect, defend, and carry forward.
Juneteenth is a powerful reminder that equality delayed is equality denied. โณโ๏ธ
Weโre living in a time where truth is under attack and justice is still unequal. But we are also living in a time of resilience, where voices rise ๐ฃ, communities organize, and young people lead with courage, clarity, and vision. ๐ช๐ฝ
As Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth, reminds us:
โNone of us are free until weโre all free, and we arenโt free yet.โ
So today, we honor Juneteenth not only in memory, but in movement. Because until we are all free, none of us truly are. ๐คโค๏ธ๐๐

๐ Supporting LGBTQIA+ youth starts with something powerfulโฆ and that is LOVE!
Swipe through for practical ways parents and caregivers can help young people feel safe, seen, loved, and supported. โค๏ธ
โจ Lead with acceptance.
โจ Keep the conversation open.
โจ Listen without judgment.
โจ Create a safe space where your child knows they can always come to you.
โจ Help them thrive by connecting them with trusted support and resources.
At CMSF, we believe every child deserves to feel valued, respected, and celebrated for exactly who they are.๐ซถ๐ฝ
๐ Because acceptance does more than create a sense of belonging, it can change a childโs life.
๐ When young people are loved for who they are, they gain the courage to become who theyโre meant to beโฆ

๐คโจ โWhat was your favorite question from Ask Auntie?โ โจ๐ค
For our final Irving Ask Auntie! Teen Circle before summer, we handed the mic ๐๏ธ to our teens and let them share the questions that sparked the biggest conversations! ๐ญ๐ฌ
Our topic, โWhat Nobody Tells You About Growing Up,โ opened the door to honest discussions about friendships, family expectations, identity, pressure, independence, and everything in betweenโฆ โค๏ธ it was goooood!
One thing we learned? Yepโฆ nobody has it all figured outโฆ and thatโs alright. ๐
A huge THANK YOU ๐๐ฝ to our amazing facilitator, Radha Patel ๐ซถ๐ฝ, for creating a space where teens felt comfortable being real, vulnerable, and heard. ๐
๐ฅ Special thanks to Drecom Art for putting together this fun reel and to Piyush Chintalwar, Founder of Pumped Up Cooking for the fantastic idea! ๐
See yall in September! โ๐ฝ

๐๐ฉท Hey SAATHI: โWhat Will People Say?โ The Invisible Pressure Running Our Livesโฆ ๐ฉท๐
This past Sunday, we gathered for our final Coppell Hey SAATHI! Circle before our summer break, and the conversation was powerful! ๐คฉโจ
Standing beneath a sign that read โFriends,โ we were reminded of the true meaning of SAATHIโฆ friend, companion, someone who walks beside you. ๐๐ค๐ธ
Together, we explored the invisible pressures many of us carry: cultural expectations, family dynamics, identity, belonging, and the familiar question:
๐ญ โWhat will people say?โ
Beautifully facilitated by Gauri Rao Sharma, the discussion created space for honest reflection, meaningful dialogue, and shared understanding. โค๏ธโจ
The stories shared were thoughtful, vulnerable, and deeply meaningful. In a world that often encourages us to fit in, our circle offered something differentโฆ a space to be heard, understood, and supported without judgment. ๐ฑ๐ซถ
Thank you ๐๐ฝ to everyone who joined us this season in Coppell. Your openness, wisdom, and willingness to connect helped transform conversations into community. ๐๐
As we pause for the summer, weโre grateful for every story shared, every perspective offered, and every connection made. โ๏ธ๐ป
Weโll see you again in September ๐
! Until then, may we all remember that the most important question isnโt:
๐ญ โWhat Will People Say?โ
But rather:
โจ โWhat feels true to me?โ โจ๐

Pride Month gives us an opportunity to celebrate, uplift voices, honor lived experiences, and recognize the progress that has been made. But the values it represents love, acceptance, kindness, respect, and belonging should never be limited to a single month on the calendar.
Every person deserves to be seen, valued, heard, and accepted for who they are.
As we raise the next generation, let us teach our children that kindness has no conditions, respect has no exceptions, and every human being deserves dignity. ๐โค๏ธ๐๐๐ฉท๐ค๐ค๐ฉถ๐ค๐๐งก
A kinder, safer, and more inclusive world is built when every person is free to live authentically, love openly, and belong fullyโฆ not just in June, but every day of the year.

๐โจ CMSF's May Book Picks are here! Happy reading to all our little bookworms! ๐๐
Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, we chose four thoughtful childrenโs books that can help open gentle conversations about big feelings, worries, belonging, and emotional well-being. ๐๐
Reading together creates space for connection, comfort, and reassurance, reminding children that their feelings matter and that they are never alone. ๐โจ
๐ Leave Me Alone! A Good Inside Story About Deeply Feeling Kids by Dr. Becky Kennedy & illustrated by Joanie Stone: Pia is a deeply feeling child whose big emotions can become overwhelming, causing her to lash out and push others away. Through safety, patience, and connection, her mom helps her move through those feelings with compassion. ๐๐
๐ My Monster and Me by Nadiya Hussain & illustrated by Ella Bailey,
A reassuring story about a child whose worries begin to feel like a monster following him everywhere. With support and honesty, he learns that sharing our worries can help us feel less alone. ๐๐พ
๐ Home Is a Wish by Julia Kuo,
A tender, beautifully illustrated story about leaving home, navigating change, and holding onto hope while searching for belonging. A heartfelt reminder that home can live in memory, love, and the people who help us feel safe. ๐๐ก
๐ Ruby Finds a Worry by Tom Percival
Rubyโs worry begins as a small โblobโ that follows her everywhere and grows bigger the longer she keeps it inside. When she meets another child with a worry of his own, Ruby discovers that talking about feelings can help worries feel smaller and less scary. ๐โจ
โจ Because when we help children name, understand, and share their feelings, we nurture emotional safety, connection, and the whole child. Mental health conversations can begin with one small story and one SAFE moment together. ๐ซถ๐
