I just finished a version of the song that I wrote for my daughter Annika's wedding a year ago (May 30, 2025) which I played live at their reception. I decided to record it and send to her & her husband for their first anniversary! Being personal, I decided to just put it on SoundCloud instead of an all out commercial release!

A true giant of jazz, and a sweet perspective on the creative- spiritual.

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Sonny Rollins. The Saxophone Colossus died this afternoon at his home in Woodstock, NY at the age of 95. “I think when the creative person ends, he continues in the next existence. As I celebrate Earth Day with a positive Earth blessing, I want to also share something from a darker side, this being a song of mine: The R**e of the World (We've Got to Heal) released in 2018. It was written in protest against one of the principal terrorizers of Mother Earth- Monsanto (who had started, "innocently" enough many years before, developing, and making the poisonous sweetener saccharine) and who became, as we all know, creators of Glyphosate (that's Roundup folks) among other very toxic chemical creations , which should be banned- and is at least restricted or banned partially in many countries, but certainly won't be here under this administration, which of course did the exact opposite when Trump signed an executive order to expand the use and production of it in February of this year (!!??!) ... 2018 when I wrote and released this song was the year that Monsanto was bought and folded into Bayer , thus hiding their name ( if I was responsible for as much disease and death as they were, I'd want to hide my name too).

The cover, with fabulous art by William Allan Ross is from the single release which came out in 2018, it was also released later on the album Aquarius Rising. Definitely my rock side here...🎸
It will be really lovely when one doesn't have to sing about things like this anymore (we've got to heal) … Find or expand ways to help care for Mama Earth today ...Earth blessings everyone!
