This fall, our sports medicine and athletic training teams are supporting athletes where they need us most, providing sideline coverage at local high school and college games, bringing care closer to teams through our mobile athletic training room and connecting athletes with sports medicine specialists when more advanced care is needed.
From injury assessment and emergency care to treatment, rehabilitation and specialty services, our teams work together to help athletes stay healthy and get back to doing what they love.

Behind every NICU stay is a family hoping for tomorrow.
Across our ministries, our neonatal teams are caring for more extremely premature infants and babies with complex medical conditions, many of whom would not have survived just a decade ago thanks to advances in neonatal medicine.
These medical breakthroughs are creating new possibilities for families while also increasing the need for specialized, intensive care. At just 4 years old, Amelia Perez went from complaining of a stomachache to receiving a diagnosis her family never expected: Wilms tumor, a type of childhood kidney cancer.
Amelia underwent surgery to remove her right kidney, followed by eight months of radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Along the way, our multidisciplinary teams of pediatric specialists supported Amelia and her family through every step of her treatment.
On January 16, 2026, Amelia reached a milestone her family will never forget, ringing the bell to mark the end of treatment.
Today, Amelia is thriving. She's back in school, making friends, swimming and enjoying her newest role as big sister.

We're proud to bring the Van Gogh™ Microscopy System with Dynamic Cell Imaging™ (DCI) to our lung program at CHRISTUS St. Michael. By allowing physicians to evaluate biopsy samples immediately during a procedure rather than waiting for laboratory results, the Van Gogh™ Microscopy System supports stronger collaboration between proceduralists and pathologists, helping to drive earlier detection, reduce indeterminate biopsies, and improve patient outcomes. Technology like this is part of our ongoing commitment to advancing patient care and bringing innovative solutions to the communities we serve.

We honored Patriot Day and the National Day of Service by giving back across our ministires. Volunteers joined firefighters, law enforcement officers, and fellow healthcare professionals at the East Texas Food Bank to pack senior food boxes, while other Associates had the privilege of showing appreciation to local first responders who serve and protect our communities every day.

This week, for National Grateful Patient Day, we celebrated the power of gratitude and the extraordinary bond between patients and the caregivers who make healing possible.

Pain shouldn’t keep you from doing the things you love.
This Pain Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the importance of personalized, comprehensive care for those living with pain. Across our ministries, multidisciplinary teams work alongside patients and develop plans that support recovery, improve function and help you move forward.

For patients managing pain medications, our teams also provide education, ongoing monitoring and coordination with primary care providers and specialists to help ensure treatment is safe and effective.

God, in your goodness, you have made a home for the worker. Make a place in our hearts for compassion to the men and women who labor tirelessly for basic necessities. Be with us all as we go about the busyness of our work. Hold us accountable not only for our actions, but most importantly to each of our neighbors. fter 27 years of marriage, Tamika Carter and her husband, David, never gave up on their dream of growing their family. Earlier this year Tamika welcomed her daughter, Denim, after a journey filled with faith, perseverance and plenty of support.
Born at 35 weeks, Baby Denim spent time in the NICU receiving specialized care to help support her feeding. Throughout her stay, her care team went above and beyond to care for Denim and her family — even surprising Tamika with a baby shower to celebrate the arrival of her long-awaited daughter.
Today, Denim is thriving at home with her family. For Tamika and David, the experience has brought a renewed sense of peace and joy — and deepened their gratitude for the NICU team that cared for their daughter. With David having spent more than 30 years serving CHRISTUS, their family’s connection to our healing ministry runs deep.
Tamika’s advice to other expectant mothers, or those still hoping to become mothers, is simple: Trust in God’s timing. As long as He doesn’t say no, it’s always possible.
