Is it safe?
Belize is one of the most welcoming and laid-back destinations in Central America, and English is the official language. Take the usual precautions you would anywhere, and you’ll feel right at home.
Where to stay?
Placencia. It puts you on the beach with the reef and cayes a short boat ride away and the jungle, waterfalls and Maya ruins an easy day trip inland. Best of everything without switching stays/locations.
How long to go?
A week. That gives you time to snorkel the reef, rappel a waterfall, get deep into the jungle, and still have slow beach days in between. Belize is not a place to rush.
Best time to go?
Summer through fall - all the beauty of Belize, with fewer crowds and better rates.

Yesterday we held a turtle nesting training with Ecomar on Sapodilla Private Island 🐢
There are ten nests on the island right now, and hatchlings have already started, the most recent just a couple of days ago.
The training covered how to read the tracks, how to mark a nest and when to stay well out of the way. So now our team is ready for the rest of the season and the ones to come!
