Time to make Syrendell Spark C***r! These powerful plants & spices will sit in the pantry for a month before we strain, add honey, and start imbibing. We foraged the elderberries, and grew the lemongrass, thyme, oregano & rosemary this year.
1 small red onion
1 lemon or lime (including rind)
5 cloves garlic
1 poblano or other pepper
2 tbsp dried red pepper flakes
1 cup dried or freshelderberries
1 tbsp dried rose hips
1 tbsp dried or fresh Oregon grapes
2 tbsp dried or fresh lemon grass
2 cinnamon sticks
6 sprigs fresh thyme
3 long rosemary sprigs
3 in long minimum horseradish root
2 in long turmeric root
2 in long ginger root
Chop and add ingredients (no need to chop cinnamon stick) to a clean bottle or jar. Add apple c***r vinegar. Let sit in the pantry 4-6 weeks. Shake daily. Once ready, strain and add honey or maple syrup (optional). Drink 1-2 tbsp per day or add to salad dressing or dips.
Alternative/additional ingredients:
1. Oregano
2. Bay leaf
3. Black, pink and gray salt
4. Star anise
5. Dried dock root
6. Orange slices

Homemade nespolino.
We harvested loquats from our tree, dried them for 3 months, steeped in vodka with lemon peels and cinnamon for 11 months, strained and cooked with sugar. Waited another 3 months before tasting. It is similar to amaretto -- notes of cherry and almond.
