💭 How you think about your pain can influence how you experience it.
If you believe pain always means serious damage or that it will never improve, your body’s pain system may become more sensitive.
Learning that pain doesn’t always directly reflect the amount of tissue damage can help reduce fear and change the way you respond to pain.
Education and understanding can be powerful tools in pain management. The goal isn’t to ignore your pain—it’s to better understand it.
🧠 Knowledge can be an important part of changing your relationship with pain.

🚶 When you’re in pain, movement may be the last thing you want to do—but avoiding movement altogether can sometimes make things worse.
Fear of pain can lead us to move less or change the way we move. Over time, this may contribute to:
• Muscle tension
• Stiffness
• Reduced strength
• Less mobility
• More fear around movement
With guidance from a healthcare professional, gentle, controlled movement and low-impact exercise can help improve mobility, build strength, reduce fear, and support better pain management.
The right movement, at the right pace, can be an important part of breaking the pain cycle.
Talk with your healthcare provider about what types of movement may be appropriate for you.

🧠 Did you know your brain plays a major role in how you experience pain?
The brain is the central hub for processing danger signals from the body. When it perceives a threat, the pain experience can become amplified.
That’s why factors such as stress, anxiety, and depression can sometimes make pain feel worse. On the other hand, relaxation, mindfulness, and positive emotions may help reduce the brain’s response to pain.
Understanding the connection between the brain and pain can be an important part of developing a more complete approach to pain management.
💡 Pain is more than just what’s happening in your body—it’s also how your brain processes those signals.
