Not your title. Not your org chart position. The real answer to: why am I here?

We asked different department heads that exact question. No script, no filter. Here’s what came back:
“Public servant.” “Youth mentor.” “I’m still a student — always learning.” “A provider.” “A support person.” “I don’t want our department to just be the best here, I want to become the standard everywhere else.”

Every answer was different. But every single one was rooted in service. That’s not a coincidence. Leadership isn’t a title you’re given, it’s an identity you choose, on purpose, every time you walk into a room.

Carol Beth and Wes had a great time presenting Emotional Intelligence and Conflict Management to the leaders of Decatur Youth Services!

It was a great opportunity to connect, learn, and discuss practical strategies for strengthening communication, building stronger relationships, and navigating conflict effectively. We’re grateful for the continued opportunity to invest in the leaders who are making a difference in the lives of young people in our community!

Carol Beth had the privilege of presenting the DISC Personality Assessment to the teachers of Banks-Caddell Elementary! This engaging session provided an opportunity for teachers to better understand their own communication styles, recognize the strengths of others, and learn how to build stronger, more effective relationships within their school community.

The best leaders name the problem before they try to solve it. The underperformer they’ve been avoiding. The culture issue everyone feels but no one says out loud.

Acknowledgment isn’t the soft part of leadership, it’s the starting line.

Our team had the incredible opportunity to present at Calhoun Community College, where we explored the five leadership styles and how each one influences the way we lead, communicate, and inspire others. Through relatable examples and practical insights, we challenged participants to identify their own leadership style while encouraging them to grow into more effective and intentional leaders. It was exciting to see the group respond to a practical role modeling exercise that embodied the leadership concepts covered and how they can be applied in everyday situations.
