Diamondback terrapins are totally turtle-y awesome! 🐢💚

Did you know diamondback terrapins are the only turtles in North America that live exclusively in brackish water? They get their name from the diamond-shaped patterns on their shells, and no two terrapins look exactly alike! Come say “shell-o” to these guys soon!

The green tree python at the Cook Museum recently changed colors! Green tree pythons are one of the few snakes that undergo a dramatic color change as they mature. Many hatchlings are bright yellow (or sometimes red), but as they grow and shed over time, they gradually transition to their vibrant green coloration. 🐍

Come join the fun in these wonderfully engaging and interactive classes that have the smallest of our guests in mind! In each class, children will learn about a different theme by listening to a story and participating in theme-inspired hands-on activities.

These classes are designed for a caregiver to enjoy this experience with the child. The adult caregiver is an active participant in the program. Infants and older children will not be allowed to register for this class and are not permitted in the room.

Guests may register online or in person at the Guest Services desk in the Museum Lobby. If you have any questions, contact the Group Sales department during regular weekday business hours at (256) 898-6312 or email [email protected].
