Dead neutral hidden behind switch.
Outlet would short out when insert plug into the top half of outlet [the hot wire would short out on the nail holding the j-box]. So I put an extension and GFI to update garage outlet to code.

Carefully get access and pull door switches, repair bad switch (would open) and lose connection for "door closed" interlock, preventing microwave from working.
