We Use Quantitative Data, Original Research, & Expert Insight to Test Water Filters

The unusual part? This system, including its remineralization filter, is NSF certified. Yet lab testing found arsenic and vanadium after filtration—raising questions about what certification testing actually covers.

The iSpring RCC7s scored just 6.64 overall. Its build quality and maintenance were strong, but contaminant reduction brought the score way down after arsenic and vanadium showed up post-filtration.
First comment: Would you still consider an RO system with great build quality if its filtration results fell short?

At around $200, the iSpring RCC7 is one of the more affordable under-sink RO systems we’ve tested. It also removed several contaminants effectively, including all 3 tested disinfection byproducts and uranium, while reducing fluoride by 87%.

But our third-party lab also detected arsenic in the filtered water—even though it wasn’t detected in the original tap water.

Our lab testing found something unexpected in the iSpring RCC7’s filtered water: arsenic was detected even though it wasn’t detected in the original tap water.

Vanadium also jumped from 0.0017 ppm to 0.111 ppm—more than double its health guideline level. The likely source? The system’s remineralization stage.

Before getting into the problems, the iSpring RCC7 deserves some credit. Our testing found that it completely removed all 3 disinfection byproducts, uranium, copper, selenium, and sulfate. It also reduced fluoride by 87%, strontium by nearly 95%, barium by 90%, and nitrate by 85%.

TDS dropped from 875 to 45 ppm—a 94% reduction. The system is also NSF certified to Standard 58 for reducing 9 contaminants.

The iSpring RCC7 is one of Amazon’s best-selling reverse osmosis systems. But what happens when you test it beyond the marketing claims? We installed it, ran it, and sent water samples to a third-party lab. The results found 2 contaminants at higher levels in the filtered water than in the original tap water.

We also tested flow rate, wastewater, efficiency, recovery rate, TDS creep, installation, and maintenance costs.

RORRA reduced chlorine from about 2 ppm to undetectable levels. But our testing also found hardness dropped 26% while sodium increased 82%. If you’re watching sodium intake, that’s worth knowing before you buy.

Rorra has some clear limitations. It may not be the right fit if you need verified certified performance, fluoride removal, or a lower cost per gallon.

Rorra performed well on several contaminants, including uranium, barium, copper, and zinc. But fluoride wasn’t reduced at all, and nitrate and molybdenum saw only modest reductions. If fluoride removal is important to you, this is something to consider.

Rorra has some important drawbacks. It has no official performance certifications, didn’t remove fluoride, and our testing found increases in sodium plus small amounts of potassium and manganese.
