Opportunity doesn't happen by accident. It's built by a community.

Before The Adaptive Performance Project was founded, I spent three years volunteering with WheelWOD.

Those experiences taught me something I'll never forget.

Exceptional adaptive competitions don't happen because of one person or one organization. They happen because an entire community comes together—athletes, volunteers, judges, coaches, medical teams, event staff, sponsors, donors, and organizations—all working toward one goal: creating an experience worthy of the athletes who have trained so hard to be there.

At TAPP, we believe adaptive athletes deserve more than access. They deserve a strong ecosystem of support.

That's why TAPP works to strengthen the people and organizations creating opportunities for adaptive athletes. One of the ways we're putting that mission into action this year is by supporting WheelWOD's efforts to help deliver an exceptional competition experience for the athletes taking the competition floor.

Supporting competitions is just one way we pursue our mission. TAPP is building opportunities for adaptive athletes wherever they're needed, and right now, that means investing in an experience that celebrates the dedication, perseverance, and talent of adaptive athletes.

To every volunteer, judge, coach, organizer, sponsor, and athlete—
If you believe every adaptive athlete deserves opportunities like these, we'd be honored to have you join us.

Every Athlete Deserves a Starting Line 07/02/2026

Adaptive athletes don't need inspiration. They need opportunity.

Opportunity to train.
Opportunity to compete.
Opportunity to belong.
Opportunity to thrive.

That's exactly what your support helps create.

Right now, one of the ways TAPP is putting that mission into action is by partnering with WheelWod to help support the 2026 Adaptive CrossFit Games and create the best possible competition experience for the athletes stepping onto the floor this year.

Every donation helps strengthen the accessibility, equipment, programming, and support that make these opportunities possible not just today, but as we continue building a stronger future for adaptive fitness.

❤️ Every Athlete Deserves a Starting Line

Some people see a competition floor.

We see years of dedication, early mornings, countless workouts, and athletes who have earned the opportunity to test themselves alongside a community that believes in them.

For many adaptive athletes, the greatest barrier isn't determination—it's access.

At The Adaptive Performance Project (TAPP), we believe every person with a physical disability or functional limitation deserves the opportunity to discover the confidence, independence, and community that fitness can provide. Whether someone is stepping into a gym for the very first time or competing on a national stage, they deserve opportunities that are accessible, welcoming, and built with them in mind.

Today, we're asking for your help.

We've launched our "Every Athlete Deserves a Starting Line" campaign with a goal of raising $20,000to help TAPP expand opportunities for adaptive athletes through accessible fitness and competitive experiences.

One of the first opportunities we're supporting is the 2026 Adaptive CrossFit Games by WheelWod, one of the premier adaptive functional fitness competitions in the country. Through our partnership, TAPP is helping strengthen the infrastructure that allows athletes to compete on a platform worthy of the work they've put in.

Your generosity helps TAPP invest in the infrastructure, accessibility, equipment, programming, and partnerships that create more opportunities for adaptive athletes. **Today, that includes our work alongside the Adaptive CrossFit Games by WheelWOD. Tomorrow, it means expanding support wherever adaptive athletes need it most.**

This isn't just about one competition.

It's about building a future where adaptive athletes have access to quality training, meaningful competition, and inclusive communities—where opportunity isn't limited by resources, but expanded through partnership and support.

Whether you can give $25 or $2,500, every donation helps move us closer to that vision. And if you're not able to donate today, sharing this post is another powerful way to support our mission.

Thank you for believing that fitness should be accessible to every body.

Together, we're building more than opportunities.

We're building a movement.

We see the whole person first. The athlete first. Training looks different for everyone — always has. We just make sure everyone has a place in the room.
That's TAPP. That's why we exist.

What a spectacular day of learning!

How do you find volunteers who are guided by your nonprofit's "north star"? What is your plan for fortifying volunteer management within your nonprofit?

A crucial part of nonprofit work that simply cannot be overlooked is volunteer administration, and that's what the Leadership Veteran Cohort of 2026 focused on during Session 7 last Friday, April 3rd.

We are so grateful for the expertise and guidance of our instructors: Tracy Vlnicka (AD, Volunteer and Visitor Experience, Denver Botanic Gardens), Abby Krstulic (Volunteer Manager, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver), and Heather Jackson, CVA (Manager, Volunteer Services, UCHealth at their hospital in Greeley).

Heather, Abby, and Tracy gave the cohort a multitude of resources and practical advice to implement strong, purposeful infrastructure for volunteer administration. The cohort explored everything from volunteer recruitment, to risk management, to volunteer training, to succession planning, and many other volunteer essentials. We are so grateful for your time and expertise Abby, Heather, and Tracy!

The Leadership Veteran Cohort is where nonprofit leaders access crucial expertise, practical workshopping, and valuable connections with veteran-serving organizations like them. We hope you'll join us in the future - check out information about the 2027 cohort here: https://lnkd.in/gzrJ8bhC
