The Delaware Prison Arts Program is excited to be attending Delaware City Day on Saturday, October 3! Stop by our booth between 11am and 5pm to check out original artwork, learn more about the program, and meet our team.

There’s plenty happening throughout the day, including vendors and food trucks, a parade at 1pm, boat rides, children’s activities, and fireworks at dusk!

Friday evening, we had the opportunity to attend the opening reception at the Rehoboth Art League and see the Prison Arts exhibition officially on display. It was incredibly rewarding to see our artists’ paintings hanging in the gallery and being viewed by members of the community.

We’re grateful to the Rehoboth Art League for giving our artists this opportunity and for welcoming the Prison Arts Program into such a beautiful space. The exhibition will be on view through November 1st, so be sure to stop by and see it in person!

Yesterday, the Delaware Prison Arts Program attended Criminal Justice Discovery Day at Delaware Technical Community College’s Stanton Campus.

It was a great opportunity to connect with high school and college students interested in criminal justice fields and introduce them to the Prison Arts Program and the role rehabilitative programming plays within the Department of Correction.

We enjoyed meeting so many students, answering their questions, and joining DOC staff and other criminal justice agencies for the day.

Tonight the Rehoboth Art League is holding an opening reception for its newest exhibitions, including The Prison Arts Program. Join us from 5-7pm at RAL. If you can’t make it, the Prison Arts Program exhibit will be up until November 1st.

🌊 Almost There...🎨

Our mural is nearing completion, and the underwater scene is officially coming to life! From colorful fish and sea creatures to all the small details that bring the ocean together, the art students at SCI have continued building on their skills while working collaboratively toward one finished piece.

Take a closer look at some of the sea life making an appearance, and stay tuned for the final reveal. 🐠🐢🪸

The Delaware Prison Arts Program will be attending Delaware Technical Community College’s Criminal Justice High School Discovery Day on Friday, September 25.

This event gives high school and college students interested in the criminal justice field an opportunity to learn more about the many careers, programs, and opportunities within the field.

We’re excited for the opportunity to meet future criminal justice professionals, share the work of the Prison Arts Program, and introduce students to the role that rehabilitation, education, and creative programming can play within the correctional system.
