Wishing our incredible community a happy and sweet new year.

We will never forget.
Twenty five years ago, the events of September 11th made their indelible mark on the American people and forever changed the trajectory of our nation.
Today, we reflect on the sacrifices made by thousands of brave first responders who put themselves in harm’s way to protect their communities. In the years that followed, we have seen the steep toll that this day takes on the families of the victims, the survivors of the attacks, and every American who replays the moments of fear and uncertainty they felt 25 years ago.
For the growing population of young adults who were too young to remember or for the generation born after 2001, each September 11 serves as an opportunity to share memories, honor sacrifice of service, and support the physical and mental health of the first responders who keep our communities safe each and every day.
May we never forget.

Labor unions have played a pivotal role in securing fair wages, 40-hour work weeks, Social Security, safer working conditions, and the basic rights and protections that have allowed generations of working Americans to build a better life. This Labor Day, we honor the workers who built America’s middle class, and those who continue to fight to protect the dignity, opportunity, and security of working people today.

Foulkstone Pathway Project
Brandywine Hundred Library
1300 Foulk Rd
Wilmington
Tuesday
October 13, 2026
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) will be hosting the first public workshop for the Foulkstone Pathway project to discuss alternative designs for improving the pathway between Foulk Road and Saddler Lane. This project includes constructing an 8-10’ wide shared-use pathway, adding a crosswalk on the south side of the Foulkstone Plaza/ Foulk Road intersection, and constructing a shared-use pathway connection to Talley Day Park.
This project was identified in the US202 Masterplan and Monitoring Group to improve regional bicycle connectivity and submitted by WILMAPCO to DelDOT for prioritization in the FY26 Bike/ Pedestrian Program. The project was moved forward into design for its value in facilitating connections from where people live to parks, schools, transit, employment, and community centers by bicycle on ‘low-stress’ streets and pathways – allowing people to get around by bike without using the high speed, high traffic roads which connect North Wilmington.
At the workshop, the project team will facilitate conversations to gather public input on the design of the pathway, fencing, access, and amenities in this area. These conversations will inform the design of the project moving forward.
The workshop will consist of a 30-minute formal presentation from the project team, starting at 6:10pm, followed by facilitated group discussions to gather feedback on preferred design alternatives or ideas for how to harmonize the project with community goals. Afterwards, the project team will be available for individual discussion and an additional opportunity to provide feedback and document residents’ concerns or suggestions.

Delaware Senate Democrats stand united behind the dedicated resident physicians at ChristianaCare seeking to unionize. Every Delawarean – regardless of their profession – deserves to work in a dignified workplace that is fair. This especially extends to our health care workers who serve our most vulnerable neighbors each and every day. Collective bargaining agreements shield physicians from administrative retaliation when they report safety hazards or inadequate resources. Workers deserve the right to organize without the fear of retaliation or intimidation, and we stand with the hard-working professionals who are striving for a more equitable work environment within Delaware’s largest health care system.

Our State employees and retirees dedicated their working lives to our State. They deserve meaningful health care reform that lowers the cost of prescription drugs, hospital and physician services, and insurance premiums – without sacrificing access or quality.
I introduced SJR 7 to make progress, but also as a call to action for our State to undertake aggressive reform that will lower the cost of life-sustaining prescription drugs for state employees and retirees. Instead, bureaucratic decision-makers simply balked at the possibility that a more affordable prescription pricing system is possible.
As government officials, we should always prioritize taking bold action over settling for the status quo. I unequivocally reject the SEBC’s unwillingness to take initiative and change our system for the better, especially at a time when everyday costs like health care are crushing our neighbors.
