Dethbed 925

From laying down the studio drums to showing up for every rehearsal and live jam at Phil and Marta Demmel's Back Lounge monthly Jam Nights whenever we've asked, Chris Lujan has been our rock through thick and thin. Today, we need to give some massive flowers to everyone who made this happen:

Troy Alexander went above and beyond crafting the original basslines, bringing heavy, foundational groove that anchors the whole track.

Riff architecture built by Ace, with original writing from Rick Andolina and Angst.

Pre-production, nurturing, and wisdom from our Grammy-voting wizard David "Demonic Dave" Hughes at Shine On Studio.

Lead guitar improv by Dugan Murray, guided by Juan Urteaga.

Studio drums laid down by Chris Lujan, and final mix/engineering by Juan Urteaga at Trident Studios.

Plus unhinged studio mosh pit energy brought to you by Curran Evans (Unca Cooey) and Justis Ybarra.

Grab your headphones, watch till the very end to see where it takes you, and let us know what you think.

DETHBED 925 - The Pupa (Official Lyric Video) Here is the final description with all the em dashes cleanly remove...

All right we're just two days away from The Pupa video dropping. Way better than the dropping she left in the hallway earlier...

Long before she was The Pupa, she was just "Pup." 🐾

Back when this photo was taken, we had no idea a bark through a vocal booth wall would inspire a whole song, a custom vocabulary, and an entire lyric video. But some muses just know what they're doing.

The full video for "The Pupa" drops next Friday, September 12th. Get ready.

Metamorphisizing (v.): To undergo transformation.

"The Pupa" wasn't written on a spreadsheet or mapped out over months. We made up this part completely organically, right there in the room from thin air. You capture that raw energy when you just let the music transform itself.

"History teaches us it’s ours to learn from."

Before The Pupa was a heavy track with a wall of sound and a mini-mosh pit in the studio, she was just a little pup sleeping on the bed. Now, she is rocking those gray chin hairs and serving as the actual executive producer, literally naming the song by barking through the vocal booth wall when the song was in it's infancy.

The best part? She is still right here, happy as can be. We aren't waiting for a goodbye to celebrate her. We are celebrating her life right now.

I crush heads when the other guys are recording their tracks because I get bored of listening to them have to do it over and over again to get their s**t right. Curran Evans did three takes, fu***ng way too long to wait.
