July 4th, 2026 Independence Day

It’s because of this very special day that we all enjoy, among many things, freedom. You will see this word frequently on the news, on signs, and on social media. This one word inspired our founding fathers as they created a vision for America that is still in place today.
As you celebrate with friends and family this weekend, enjoy and appreciate your freedom!

Happy 250th Birthday USA!

How do you celebrate Flag Day? Or better yet, WHY do you celebrate Flag Day? This day represents the adoption of the flag many years ago in 1777. Previously each colony had its own flag. Congress declared in 1777 that there should only be one flag. The first flag represented the 13 original colonies with 13 white stars on a blue field and 13 alternating red and white stripes. Today, our American flag has evolved to include a star for each state but still has the original 13 stripes. Today we honor and fly our country’s most honored and recognizable symbol.

Memorial Day was created to honor those who lost their lives while serving. Today and always, remember the bravery of the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. Pause for a moment of gratitude for those no longer with us for their selfless acts of service and dedication.

We can thank President Truman for creating Armed Forces Day on May 20, 1950. He saw the need to not only celebrate our currently enlisted servicemen but to educate the American public about the role of the miliary. Unified under the Department of Defense, all six military branches work together to provide safety and security for all Americans. Today we celebrate over two million active and reserve service members and honor them for the sacrifices they make daily for our freedom.
