“It is the truth that liberates, not your effort to be free.” - Jiddu Krishnamurti
We can spend so much energy trying to change ourselves, fix a situation, or force our way toward an answer.
But sometimes freedom begins somewhere quieter: with seeing clearly what is actually happening.
Mindfulness gives us space to notice our thoughts, emotions, and patterns without immediately trying to change them. When we become willing to see ourselves more honestly, we may discover that awareness itself begins to loosen what has been keeping us stuck.
What truth might become clearer if you stopped trying to force an answer?

When was the last time you had space to slow down and really notice what has been showing up in your life?
On Wednesday, October 14, we’re gathering again for the Women’s Collective Monthly Open Gathering, a welcoming morning for women to step away from everyday routines, reflect, and have meaningful conversations with other women.
We’ll make room for the things that don’t always get much attention in the busyness of life. Relationships, work, identity, emotions, transitions, purpose, or simply a question you’ve been carrying.
You’re welcome to share if you feel comfortable, offer your perspective, ask questions, or simply listen. There is no pressure to speak, no expectation to have the right answer, and nothing you need to prepare.
Whether this is your first gathering or you’ve joined us before, you are warmly welcome.

You do not need to know anyone before attending the Women’s Collective Open Gathering.
You also do not need to be comfortable speaking in a group, understand Jungian psychology, or have a clear question you want to explore.
You can arrive exactly where you are in your life.
Some women may come ready to share, while others may prefer to listen and take in the conversation. Both ways of participating are welcome.
The gathering is for women who want a little space away from their usual routines, a chance to hear different perspectives, and an opportunity to connect with others through a meaningful conversation.
Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning after a previous gathering, I would be glad to welcome you.

When did wanting something become something you needed to justify?
Desire can be easy to dismiss, especially when responsibilities, practicality, and other people’s needs take up most of our attention.
But wanting something does not automatically make us selfish or unrealistic. Sometimes desire tells us where there is energy, curiosity, or a part of life that has been neglected for too long.
The Vital Spark asks us to take these signals more seriously.
That does not mean acting on every impulse. It means becoming curious about what our desires may reveal about what matters to us, what we miss, and where we may be ready for something different.
I’m looking forward to exploring this and other themes from Lisa Marchiano’s book together.

When was the last time you paused without immediately reaching for your phone, thinking about your next responsibility, or trying to solve something?
Many of us are so used to staying busy that slowing down can feel unfamiliar. Yet when we create space to listen, we often begin to notice emotions, questions, and inner responses that have been waiting for our attention.
Mindfulness is not about clearing every thought from your mind. It is about becoming more aware of what is already present without rushing to judge it or change it.
This is part of what we’ll explore during the September Women’s Collective Open Gathering. We’ll spend an hour reflecting, listening, and having an honest conversation with other women in our community.

How often do you know what you want to say, but soften it before it ever leaves your mouth?
Many women become skilled at reading the room, considering everyone else’s needs, and keeping things comfortable. There is value in being thoughtful, but there can also be a cost when we repeatedly set aside our own voice.
One of the ideas I appreciate in The Vital Spark is the invitation to look more closely at personal authority. What changes when we stop waiting for permission to trust what we know, name what matters, or take our own needs seriously?
This is one of the conversations I’m looking forward to exploring at our September Wild New Way Book Club.
You do not need to finish the book before joining me. Come ready to reflect, listen, and share if you would like.

Most of us spend our days responding to what needs our attention. Between work, family, relationships, and everyday responsibilities, it can be difficult to pause long enough to notice what is happening within us.
I invite you to join me for the September Wild New Way Women’s Collective Open Gathering, a gathering for women in the community.
During our hour together, I’ll guide a thoughtful conversation around the emotions, relationships, decisions, and questions that may be showing up in our lives. You are welcome to listen, reflect, and share your perspective whenever you feel comfortable.
You do not need any previous experience with Jungian psychology, mindfulness, meditation, or reflective practices. Everything will be introduced clearly, and there is no pressure to arrive with answers.

If The Vital Spark has been sitting on your reading list, or you have been curious about the conversation it opens up, there is still time to join us.
On Monday, September 28th, we will gather at Four Leaves Winery to explore The Vital Spark: Reclaim Your Outlaw Energies and Find Your Feminine Fire by Lisa Marchiano.
The book looks at the parts of ourselves women are often encouraged to soften, silence, or push aside, including anger, instinct, ambition, creativity, desire, and personal authority. During our conversation, we will reflect on what these qualities may be asking us to notice and how reconnecting with them can bring more vitality and authenticity into everyday life.
You do not need to finish the book before attending. Whether you have read every chapter, only started, or are simply interested in the themes, you are welcome to join the conversation.

What a beautiful morning with the Wild New Way Women’s Collective and Brittany Lillegard of . 🌿
Let Your Breath Be Your Compass gave us something we don’t always give ourselves enough of: time to slow down.
Time to step away from the usual pace of the week, get out of our heads for a while, pay attention to ourselves, and actually be with one another.
There was breathwork, reflection, drawing, poetry, conversation, laughter, and plenty of time to simply connect. Women who came together as strangers were talking, sharing, listening, and getting to know one another in a way that felt natural and easy.
That is one of my favorite things about the Collective. The workshops give us something to explore, but the real magic is what happens around it. We create space to connect with ourselves, and somehow that makes it easier to connect more honestly with each other.
A huge thank you to Brittany for creating such a welcoming and grounded experience and sharing more than 15 years of knowledge and experience with us.
And thank you to all of the women who showed up, slowed down, and made the morning what it was. We loved having you there.

Important Book Club Update: The September gathering has a new date.
Due to an unforeseen circumstance, the September Wild New Way Book Club originally scheduled for September 22 has been moved to Monday, September 28. The time and location will remain the same, and I hope you’ll still be able to join us.
Many women have learned that anger makes them difficult, demanding, or unkind. Because of this, we may stay quiet when something feels wrong, overlook a crossed boundary, or question whether our reaction is reasonable.
But anger often carries information worth listening to.
In The Vital Spark, Lisa Marchiano explores anger as one of the energies women are often encouraged to suppress. Rather than allowing it to control our behavior, we can become curious about what it may be revealing about our needs, values, relationships, and boundaries.
This is one of the themes we’ll explore together during our September Book Club. You are welcome whether you’ve finished the book, read only a few chapters, or are simply interested in the conversation.
