Meet Penny, a one-year-old German Shepherd who came to GSRA with a serious open wound on her chest needing urgent medical care. She’s now safe in foster care, getting the antibiotics and TLC she needs while she works her way back to good health.

Despite everything she’s been through, Penny is a super sweet, people-oriented girl who loves being close to her humans. She’s been an absolute trooper through treatment, and we’re already seeing plenty of reasons to believe there are much better days ahead for her.

New pack member-GSRA Adopts in NC, SC, & VA. The GSRA team works hard to match the right dog with the perfect family which means that sometimes our ‘Coming Soon’ dogs may already be paired with an approved adopter before they officially become available for adoption.

With heavy hearts, we share that Jackson Alexander (GSRA Class of 2012) has gone to the rainbow bridge. His family shares, "He was born December 7, 2011, we met him in January of 2012 and brought him home February 25, 2012. At the time, he also had a black lab big sister. They were wonderful protectors! Jackson's most common name was 'big bear' and he will be missed dearly."

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family during this difficult time. Run free, sweet Big Bear.🌈❤️
