Our final day of Sew Summer! Time to Cook! It's been a fantastic week of making new friends and building community! What an awesome group of kids and future quilters!

Sew Summer! Is back with our Time To Cook session! Free for all to attend at the Durham South Library branch. These kids did a great job making popcorn bags and pot holders. They are learning basic quilting skills - you should see what they did with their bindings..they ROCK!

What a great day at Sew With Us yesterday! We had 13 people join us to sew, welcomed a new person to our group, and were happy to see one of our newest sewers return to work on her quilt.
We also heard from Kathy all about Little Pink Houses of Hope while many of us worked on special quilts for them.
Our next Sew With Us! session is on July 27th. Please sign up soon if you plan to attend! You can sign up on our website at connectingwiththreads.org

Information on our Youth Classes
Connecting With Threads | Sewing Classes & Community in Durham, NC Educating people about sewing. Nurturing our community.

Our latest donations to Meals on Wheels Durham! Thank you to all of our members who created these beautiful quilts!
I have found youth sewing classes to run about $25+ an hour. This is unaffordable for so many families. I am proud to be a part of this group that volunteers to provide these lessons - including supplies - at no cost to families.
By partnering with community organizations, we can also provide equipment and materials at no cost -- while teaching youth valuable skills - not only sewing skills but life skills such as perseverance, patience, and positivity.
