This is the official recruiting and hiring page for the Durham Fire Department.
First Tuesday workout for Academy 41, their first taste of the grinder.
Every rep today was about building the strength this job demands: unorthodox movements, awkward positions, and the kind of muscle memory you only earn through sweat...
Just a preview of the seven‑month climb ahead. Intensity only goes up from here.
Strong work 41 💪

When our members grow, our department grows 💪.
That’s why we’re committed to giving them every tool, every class, and every opportunity they need to be promotion‑ready and confident when the next step calls their name.
Flicks from A-Shifts training last week. Crews were out helping their members prepare for the promotion process happening later this year.
We’re building a culture where preparation meets pride, and where future officers rise from within.
This is investment.
This is accountability.
This is how strong departments stay strong. 🗣🔥
