Paws and Claws Cat Rescue

Prepare for a long post, because everyone’s favorite duo is THRIVING! Estelle (now Soju) and Elm (now Sake) have officially taken over Nen’s household—and we couldn’t be happier for them. 🥹

Nen shared that when they first came home, the two spent their first few hours racing after each other up and down the stairs and hallway before eventually collapsing on the bed. And that’s become their routine!

Soju loves jumping up high and watching the world go by from the window. And our volunteers will be delighted to know that she STILL loves jumping onto shoulders—which may have caused a few groans when she was trying to “help” clean the Adoptables rooms at the shelter. 😂

Sake, meanwhile, loves being held like a baby, but he’s recently discovered a brand-new passion: socks. Nen says, “But I can’t yuck his yum. There’s a pile of socks on my bed thanks to him.”

These two have so much energy, so much personality, and so much love to give. We knew they were meant to stay together, and we were willing to wait for the right person who would see just how special this pair is. And then Nen came along.

Knowing that Soju and Sake get to grow up together in a home where they are adored, entertained, cuddled, and allowed to maintain a very impressive sock collection means the world to us. Jeffrey, our Adoption Coordinator, may have even shed a few tears when they officially went home.

Congratulations to Nen, Soju, and Sake—and to everyone who helped these two get to this happy ending. We’ll be celebrating this one for a long time. 💙

HAPPY RALLY FOR RESCUES MONTH! 🍂 September brought us the most adoptions we’ve ever had in a single month(!!!) and we’re heading into October feeling incredibly grateful for the people who make all of this possible.

On October 17, we’ll come together at Baker Park for Rally for Rescues - Fall Fest, celebrating the community that makes this work possible and raising the support we need to keep saving cats. Tickets are on sale in our bio!

Thursday’s new Open Adoption Hours have already led to some AMAZING adoptions! And this one might just be our favorite kind of happy ending. 🥹

Brianna adopted siblings Whipped Cream and Maraschino Cherry… and then her mom, Anitra, adopted their sibling Hot Fudge! 💙

That means this entire litter gets to grow up in the same family, with plenty of opportunities to see each other as they get bigger. These three hit the jackpot!

Come find your new best friend during our Open Adoption Hours:

📅 October 8, 15, 22 & 29
⏰ 5–6:45 p.m.
📍 829 Chicago Ave, Evanston

No appointment needed. Just walk in, fall in love, and adopt!

Snapdragon and Delphinium turned 2 months old today! Here’s them soaking up every bit of love in their foster home with Naghmeh and Sina! 🥰

We’ve been talking a lot about orange tripods recently so we have to introduce you to Chervil! This boy just hasn’t caught a break.

First, he needed a leg and partial tail amputation. Then, he needed surgery to remove a polyp that was blocking most of his airway.

Chervil is healthy, happy and ready for whatever comes next. His eye should return to normal with time, but for now, you can find this resilient little orange tripod hopping around the Cat Adoption Center.

Come meet him! He’s more than earned his chance at an easy chapter. 🧡

Meet Feldspar, our second dental patient this month. At just 5 years old, Feldspar has some seriously gnarly teeth that need attention. He’ll be heading in for a dental procedure next week to get the care he needs and we’ll keep you updated on his procedure.

Dental procedures are a significant expense, and at the same, they’re an important part of giving cats like Feldspar the chance to feel their best.

That’s where our community comes in. 💙

Want to help make sure cats like Feldspar get the care they need? It’s as easy as joining us for Rally for Rescues Fall Fest on October 17! Every dollar raised helps support the medical care and necessities that go into saving lives and building community.

📅 October 17 | 12–3 PM
📍 Baker Park, Evanston

Come rally for cats like Feldspar! Get your tickets at https://linktr.ee/PawsandClawsCatRescue!
