Seasons Change

We’ve officially entered the fall season… well, that is what the calendar says at least. While we all look forward to cooler weather, autumn traditions, and upcoming seasons for some, the change doesn’t happen fast enough! Have you ever found yourself in a new season of life? Did the changes happen quickly, or did they seem to take their time? If your seasons are changing now, are you having a hard time finding your new balance?

As we move from summer to fall, God is faithful to reveal a few things through the transition:

Are you clogged?

Burp – gurgle – slosh! Instead of releasing the bath water down the open drain, the tub voiced its disapproval. I had no idea we had a clog in the pipe until it was too late. Now I had a tub full of sudsy water and no way to get rid of it.

I am not normally a tub person, but after having my feelings hurt in a conversation with a friend, I decided to take a bath. I needed time to think and, to be honest, feel sorry for myself. An hour later, still frustrated and hurt, I pulled the plug to drain the water, but the tub refused to comply. Something was clogging the pipe. In that moment, God provided a much-needed change of perspective:

Have you ever bought unassembled furniture? It usually arrives with several little bags of parts, pieces, gadgets, and gizmos in addition to the larger pieces that need to be connected. Some pieces seem self-explanatory, others not so much.

Parched

It’s been a long, dry summer here in Texas. Temperatures have been soaring and there has not been a rain cloud in sight for weeks! While we wait patiently (kind of) for the cooler weather to come, we also pray Mother Nature will bless us with some rain!

As I watered my plants this morning, I was reminded how beneficial rain really is:
