PREPARING FOR THE INCOMING WEATHER

With a storm expected to impact our area sometime Friday and Saturday, Sea Glass Initiative is making plans now to help unhoused residents who may need a safe place to shelter.

If you are an unhoused resident of Baldwin County and will need shelter from the storm, please contact us TODAY so we can help you make transportation arrangements.

SAFER PLACE IN FOLEY
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Foley will open as a Safer Place for anyone in the community who needs a safe place to shelter from the storm. It will open Friday, with the exact opening time to be determined later today. We will share the confirmed time as soon as it is available. The Safer Place is open to the public.
If you plan to stay, please bring all necessary medications, a blanket and pillow if possible, along with any other essential personal items you may need.

NEED A RIDE?
Sea Glass Initiative can help provide transportation to an available emergency shelter or safer place for our unhoused residents. Please contact us today to make arrangements. Transportation will be available through Friday morning, with service ending later Friday morning for the safety of our staff and drivers.

If you need shelter, please contact us TODAY. Our goal is to help you get somewhere safe before conditions deteriorate and travel is no longer safe.

The Elks Lodge of Foley Southern Star Search Battle of the Bands is coming up October 16th & 17th, and we’re helping them spread the word!

Friday night, October 16th — they’re looking for solo acts of ALL kinds! Musicians, singers, magicians, entertainers… if you’ve got a talent, they want to see it!

🎸 Saturday, October 17th — it’s the Battle of the Bands! Bands will compete for up to $500 CASH + a demo recording session! 🎶

And we’re especially excited because a portion of the proceeds will benefit Sea Glass Initiative!

So if you’ve got a talented friend who needs to be on that stage TAG THEM! 👇

And if you’re just looking for something fun to do that weekend, come out, support local talent, support the Elks, and support Sea Glass Initiative while you’re at it!

Come join us for a one stop shop of community resources under one roof. Entry is free to everyone and a hot meal will be served. Everyone in the community is welcome!

If you’re on Medicare, getting ready to enroll, helping an aging parent, or simply trying to understand your options, this presentation is for you.

We’ll take a closer look at Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement (Medigap) and Medicaid and help you understand the differences, what to consider, and the questions you should be asking.

And that’s just one part of our Annual Community Resource Fair, where local organizations will be available to share information, answer questions and connect our community with resources.

Being selected as a finalist is an incredible opportunity, and we are proud of the work we are doing and are looking forward to sharing more about our project and the difference this grant can make.

The dedication and meaningful work represented in this year's applications made the selection process both challenging and inspiring. We are grateful to each nonprofit for sharing its mission for making a difference in our community.

We can't wait for our Evening of Impact on October 20th when we will award SIX grants!
