Hey, Forney 🤠 School starts Wednesday, and the sidewalks get to talk first.

Chalk the Walk is Tuesday, Aug 11, from 4 to 6 PM at every Forney ISD campus. Bring your own sidewalk chalk and leave a good luck note on the walkway students and staff use to get inside. All 26 campuses are in, so pick your kid's school or the one down your street.

Forney's council meets Tuesday night with exactly one thing on the agenda: whether to call a November bond election on a recreational facility. Last call, peach people 🍑 Ham Orchards in Terrell wraps up its season in mid August, so this week is one of your last chances to grab a bucket of some of the sweetest peaches in Texas. The award winning homemade ice cream alone is worth the trip. They are closed Sundays, so plan for Monday to Saturday, 9 to 5, at 11939 County Road 309 in Terrell. Heads up, Forney. City Council meets this Tuesday, and a few things on the agenda could touch your wallet and your neighborhood: your 2027 tax rate, an Atmos gas rate settlement, a new CareFlite ambulance deal, new City Hall signs, and the first talk of a possible bond program.

Heads up, Forney baseball and softball families. 🤠 A new academy called D-BAT is coming to 18514 FM 740.

Think indoor batting cages that throw real baseballs and softballs, plus lessons, camps, memberships, and birthday parties. Rain or shine, your hitter gets reps.
