We don't understand why, but Stella still has not found her family! This girl is so very adoptable- great with other dogs, loves people and getting cuddles, walks nicely on leash, loves to be outdoors, no health issues and completely vetted, with a happy, and easy-going personality! To top it all off, she's the perfect age of 5 years old-well past annoying puppy habits, but still so many good years ahead of her and ready to be a valued member of a family! Apply today or can you at least share this post to help us find her family?
She is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana and her adoption fee is $400!

We are so happy that Elliott (now Leo) has found his person! He is going to live an exciting and glamorous life in the big city of Chicago, enjoying walks along the lake, doggie friends at the local dog park, and getting endless cuddles from his sweet mama! Have a great life Leo!

This precious girl is Birdie and she needs our help 💜
Birdie arrived to HCC recently for her second chance at a beautiful life. She is a retired breeder mama who used to call a storage shed “home.” It is clear that in her 6 years of life, she has had many litters of puppies. We can’t imagine how tired she must be, yet remains a sweet little ray of sunshine.
After a visit to the veterinarian, it was discovered that Birdie has many health concerns that we are addressing and working through. This is why we need your help, so we can provide crucial medical support to Birdie and more dogs like her in the future! 💜
Here is the rundown of Birdie’s medical concerns we received:
diabetes with ketones (this means she is in a critical state), a severe ear infection in both ears, rotten teeth, dry eye, hookworms, and whipworms. She is also underweight at 12 pounds when she should be closer to 18.
Birdie is now getting insulin and speciality food to address her diabetes and she was spayed, which should help with hormone fluctuations that can complicate diabetes. Her ears were cleaned and she is now on treatment to clear her painful infections, her teeth were cleaned, and she was given medication to get rid of her worms.
Birdie is in a very loving foster home and is already feeling much better. This amount of care and medical treatment is only made possible by the generosity of our supporters like you! If you are able to donate to help us with the expenses of Birdie’s present and future care, we would truly feel so honored and grateful.
You can can make a contribution by visiting www.heartlandcavalierconnection.org/donate
We thank you for your kindness, generosity and unwavering support. We are so grateful to be able to provide Birdie with a second chance thanks to you!

⭐️Meet ADOPTABLE STELLA⭐️
Are you looking for a cuddle buddy? Walking companion? Garden helper? Adorable shadow? Stella is ready to apply for the job! This sweet gal is EASY-GOING and will just go with the flow. Other dogs? No problem! Lots of guests in the home? She will greet them with tail wags and expect pets. She is the whole package and ready to find her family!
You would never know this retired breeder mama used to live in a storage shed with rotten teeth, pumping out litter after litter. We think she’s about 5 years old, 23lbs and a bit chunky so she has weight loss goals, but is in good health otherwise.
✅No heart murmur, heart healthy
✅UTD on all vaccines
✅Heartworm and f***l clear
✅Microchipped
✅Spayed
✅Dental completed
She is still working on housetraining but making progress and seems to be quite comfortable on leash. She really enjoys hanging out in the backyard smelling all the things, so we would love a fence yard for her to safely do that. She hasn’t been interested in toys yet, but that may change.
If you think Stella would make a great addition to your family (and seriously, who wouldn’t?!) get your application in!

Please welcome Dottie, Stella, and Birdie to the HCC family! These scared girls are releases from commercial breeders in Ohio and have produced lots of pups for their former owners. Birdie, the 3rd dog pictured, is in the worst shape- emaciated, with filthy ears, and in badly need of a dental. We will get all of these girls on track medically, and start to show them how great life can truly be in a loving home!
Thanks to good Samaritans who network to get these dogs from breeders to rescues who can care for them, and of course for our amazing fosters who provide these dogs with a safe, loving place to land.
Please do your best not to support commercial breeders and puppy mills!
🚫Don’t buy a puppy from a pet shop-they most certainly came from a puppy mill
🚫 If you can’t tour the breeder’s facility and ensure it’s clean and nurturing
🚫 If you can’t meet at least mom, and ensure she is well socialized, medically healthy, and clean
🚫They offer transportation or concierge service
🚫They breed more than one or two types of dogs
🚫 You purchase them from third party website instead of directly from the breeder
✅ Better yet, adopt from a local shelter or rescue! 🤗🐶👍❤️
We will be accessing these beautiful girls and learning more about their personalities and then will be looking for caring forever homes for them. If you aren’t on our wait list and might be interested in one of these gals, get your application in! https://www.heartlandcavalierconnection.org/adoptionapplication

Leon has found his new family and the big smile on his face says it all! 💜🐶

Remember sweet Popsie (now Poppy) who entered rescue back in June? She is the ruby girl in the photo and was adopted by the Mulligan family. They thought she would enjoy having a companion, and fell in love with Fern (blenheim) when they saw her intake photo! So we made this lovely match today and we know they are going to be so happy together! 🥰
Thank you to the Mulligan family for adopting not one, but two of our beloved rescue dogs, and for rock star Karen B. for fostering Fern and helping with her transport. We could not do rescue without our amazing network of fosters and volunteers!

Congratulations to the Bunstines on their new fur baby Tucker! This was a wonderful match, and Tucker now has a big brother named Tully who he loved immediately. 🥹 And how adorable are their names?!
Thanks to his loving foster mom Cathy who did so much to get this pup ready for adoption! Our foster parents are so amazing!
Nessa was also placed today, and cared for by Cathy, and we will share their family photo soon. 🐶💜
