Hey! This is us! I'm so excited to be doing this! We're going to have Baba Yagas and Hobbits against Fascism mugs and cauldron mugs and yarn cauldrons and maybe, if things really work out, some pumpkin mugs AND some actual clay pumpkins too!
Looking for the perfect piece of pottery to adorn your Samhain Altar? On Sunday, October 25th, we are joined by Dancing Pig Pots for a pottery Pop- Up!
Dancing Pig Pots is an ostensibly functional pottery studio based in a barn on the banks of Marsh Creek, just west of Gettysburg PA. They mostly make mugs but also throw bowls, goblets, plates & planters as well as cauldrons and other shapes.
Their pottery is whimsical, pithy, political, pagan & occasionally profound. All are handcrafted with love.
Their pots can be found at the May Day Faerie Festival, Pennsic, The Serpent's Key and occasionally at the Adams County Farmers Market, and online at dancingpigpots .com
Where: 28 Carlisle St. Hanover PA
When: Sunday October 25th 11am-4pm

Y'all. The Frederick CUUPS Pagan Pride last Saturday was a pivotal life event for me. Such an amazing day. I've found my tribe! I did the event on my own*, I sold out of several things & even the rain that ended the event early couldn't dampen our spirits.
So classy the portos had actual cupholders!
I don't really have words for the joy, abundance, safety & sense of belonging that filled the day!
Anyway, now that I've dried out, I'm spending two weeks savoring October in ways I couldn't when I was at Faire, mostly with the lovely beings in slide 19, then it's back to the studio to get ready for my pre-Samhain Pop Up at The Serpent’s Key on 25 October and Adams County Farmers Market on Saturday 31 October
Hope to see you soon!
I gotta go have some autumn adventures!
*I never felt isolated or overwhelmed at the event, the volunteers were so helpful & friendly!

I've missed y'all! Apparently I needed a social media break. But I'm back and heading down for my last September show, Frederick Pagan Pride!
It's my first ever Pagan Pride and I'll be soloing so stop by and say hello if you come out! There'll be pumpkin mugs and hobbit mugs and Baba Yagas & more besides
I promise to report back and even better news, I've got several weeks off after this in which I'm going to no-really-I-mean-it-this-time overhaul the website!
But for now I've gotta drive to Frederick and set up a show!

For the first time since 1999, opening weekend of MDRF happened without Dancing Pig Pots present. That was weird for me. Mostly good, but strange nonetheless.
I'm sending SusanGrace and the whole crew at Susangrace best wishes for an amazing season. I hope their new home is as good to them as it was to me!
Instead of being at Faire, I followed the Susquehanna into the mountains to my sweetie's home and went to his annual family picnic on the shore of Kekua Lake. His extended family is as lovely as he is, which is saying something!
Now, after a grand weekend I'm heading back to the studio to finish pots for my first September show, the Adams County Farmers Market this coming Saturday!
I hope to see you there! I gotta go drive home & finish some pots!
It's bowl day on this Monday. Got 20 eating bowls plus some wee bowls from ~40lbs of clay. Planning on having this for Labor Day Saturday at the Adams County Farmers Market
Follow along for updates!

Hey folks! If you're wondering what we're doing instead of MDRF this fall, fuss no more!
Here's our fall schedule, so far: five events with a few more to come
We've restocked The Serpent’s Key and hope to keep them full of pots, and we'll be back at Adams County Farmers Market on Saturday 5 September.
Then we'll be at Katie Smock on 19 September and then at Frederick Pagan Pride hosted by Frederick CUUPS on 26 September. Both are new to us events that we've long wanted to do but couldn't because Faire was kicking our butts
Then we'll be doing a Samhain themed Pottery Pop-up at The Serpent’s Key on Sunday 25 October - all day, with a tattoo pop up too - pottery & tattoos, how awesome is that?
And then we'll be back at Adams County Farmers Market for Closing Day, Saturday 31 October
Remy is stunned by our ambition. I'm hoping to add a few more events. And to overhaul the website. And, go to the beach in early October.
So, we'll still be busy, and we hope to see you soon.
I gotta go make pots!

Today is the physical anniversary of my partner's su***de - he left 3 years ago, on the Thursday after Pennsic, and since I still go to Pennsic, this anniversary affects me more than the calendar date.
So, I'm thinking about him today, and as usual the memories are more sweet than bitter. In those terrible days immediately after his death a woman who'd lost her partner to su***de almost 20 years earlier said to me that eventually how her husband died stopped mattering to her, what mattered was the fact of his being gone. I didn't really believe her then, but it's becoming much more true for me now.
The first picture here is of us, at Pennsic in 2014. I don't have many pictures of Joe, and even fewer of him smiling, so I was grateful when FB coughed this up the other day
I'm spending today and the rest of this week with my sweetie in Alfred NY - it's odd and lovely to have the space and time to decompress from Pennsic and to process the grief and other complicated feelings this season brings rather than having to immediately jump into the chaos of a Faire season
But I'll be back in the studio soon - we have 3 shows in September and I hope to add a few more yet as well as overhauling our website and restocking the Serpent's Key
I'm drinking coffee & napping with my sweetie and my dog this week, caring for what is here, savoring all the flavors of this season. I hope that you too have space and beauty in these wanning days of summer

Postcard from Peace Week... Booth scenes, selfies with sweetie, tents up top, my camp in the Bog (this is my 40th Pennsic and for all of them I've been a part of this camp) and then a walk under the full moon.
It's been a good week and we've got another one to come!

Postcard from Pennsic, day 1 aka setup Saturday
Up at 3:30, wheels up at 5, onsite at 10:30, through troll in under 20 minutes (!), booth contents yeeted out of truck by noon (excellent crew of helpers)
Then down to the bog & a slow struggle to get my yurt up (many side quests, not pictured, to help others unload & set up) then a lovely walk back to camp after visiting my sweetie
A bad day at Pennsic is better than a bad day anywhere else, and this was a very good day, which is even better than a good day anywhere else...
