First Responder Sleep Recovery
Fix your sleep, change your life!
10/03/2026
It should shock everyone that 48/81 Line of Duty Deaths in 2025 were preventable. There are 48 less firefighters in the world because of stress and overexertion . What are depts doing to fix exhaustion?
I don’t run this program because I have to. I run this program to save lives.

⚡️ Have you ever noticed cell towers on firehouses?
Why?
The cities make deals.
The final picture is a photo of my firefighter👨🏽🚒 outside a firehouse he has worked at many times, with a cell tower just feet away from the house. This isn’t an exception, it’s common place.
What are the consequences for the firefighters? 🚒
First we must consider this: we are electrical beings. So what happens when we introduce more electromagnetic energy into the places where we’re supposed to recover and rest?
🧬 A 2025 study explored whether genetic differences could influence how people respond to a controlled standard cell exposure ( 3.6 GHz RF-EMF) before sleep. Researchers found measurable changes in sleep among participants with one variant of a gene: CACNA1C.
🔥 🔥 🔥 Even if there are less people with this gene variant, with this proven information if you have that gene variant, is the employer who has put a cell tower on or near the fire house responsible for poor sleep and health related outcomes? You tell me…. 👇🔥 🔥 🔥
This raises an important question:
🚒 Are we paying enough attention to the invisible exposures inside and around our firehouses?
As departments consider leasing firehouse property for cellular infrastructure, the conversation shouldn’t be only about revenue.
If the firehouse is where firefighters sleep, recover, and prepare for the next call, shouldn’t we be asking what surrounds them while they do it to make sure they are in safe conditions?

THROWBACK THURSDAY 🔥
400 West Metro Fire Rescue firefighters trained to sleep, recover, and build resilience! 💪🏽
Because being strong on the fireground starts with a healthy body and mind… with strong sleep and adequate recovery. 🚒
For the first time ever, departments have access to a high impact, “transformative” training that goes beyond PowerPoints & sleep hygiene.
We teach firefighters the actual skills of recovery:
🧠 Mindset practices that strengthen resilience from the inside out
🌙 Guided experiences that help the body access deep, restorative states of sleep
🫁 Somatic and breath practices to shift out of stress and into recovery
🔥 Practical tools firefighters can use after the call, after the shift, and throughout their careers
💤 How to nap and sleep optimally
Because recovery is a skill.
And when firefighters learn how to recover better, they don’t just sleep better.
They build the capacity to show up stronger for the next call, their families, their crews, and themselves.
400 firefighters. One department. A culture of recovery in the making.
Who’s ready to make sleep + recovery part of the fire service culture? 👇

👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 slow clap 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
🔥 It was an honor to train 400 WMFR members in the First Responder Sleep Recovery Program a few years ago. It delights me to see they have continued to prioritize firefighter wellness!
Thank you West Metro Fire Rescue for willingly leading the change: it’s logical, cost-free, and the benefits will yield greater operational safety, better quality of life for members and a decrease in health risks for firefighters. Well-done Chief Benny!
Real change in the fire service takes time, and sometimes a leader willing to think critically and say yes to logical policy change.
Tag a fire chief who needs to see this!

: The Power of SLEEP RECOVERY 🚨
Operating on just 4 hours of sleep, Firefighter Noah walked into our training hosted by the Aspen PD running on fumes and trying to hold on.
The shift doesn’t stop for exhaustion…and neither do the calls. But what happens when you hit the reset button with Sleep Recovery, a proven method to reset?
🔥 How did Firefighter Noah FEEL in his own words after experiencing the proven Sleep Recovery method we teach?
“I honestly had a huge jolt of energy and motivation following the recovery practice, and it was crucial because I had so much to do today.” — Firefighter Noah, Aspen Fire
Our first responders carry the weight of our communities on their shoulders. They deserve the tools to recover just as hard as they work.
✨ Ready to transform your department’s rest and resilience? Let’s come together for a transformative hands on training experience!

I’d personally like to address a warning that I firmly believe is illegitimate against the use of glutathione. I have been using this natural antioxidant (which the liver produces to help your body detoxify) as a part of my personal routine, for years. I also take oral NAC (a natural amino acid) to boost my natural glutathione levels. In fact, I took NAC this morning.
I commend IHAN for selflessly serving firefighters with free medical care after natural disasters; and the fact that their incredible service has come into scrutiny is wrong and mind blowing.
Note that Naturopathic Doctors NDs have to go through 8 years minimum of medical school; both of these doctors I mention have received highly esteemed achievements and recognitions… and they are choosing to donate their medical expertise and services to firefighters. They serve firefighters coming off the fire line to reduce their toxic exposures with antioxidants and other treatments to counter the effects of carcinogens, and to support firefighter health. They are an incredible, invaluable resource that I’m grateful exists, as we all should be!
I stand with Integrative Health Action Network Integrative Health Action Network .
Regarding the spokesperson who issued a warning against antioxidant use: I do not think a person who has zero health and wellness background should be advising on firefighter health. Period.
Firefighters, before you listen to the fear mongering by these warning statements, I urge you to think critically. I urge you to reach out to IHAN and read their statement on glutathione on their website, learn about their practices and be open to trying alternative wellness practices that have had a lot of promise.
If we want to lower mortality rates in the fire service… it’s time to consider alternatives that are natural, established in safety, and may save lives.
I also serve firefighters with progressive alternative methods to well-being; and I believe that those of us truly advocating for firefighter wellness can see beyond the fear-mongering.

WHAT IF SLEEP RECOVERY COULD CHANGE THE WAY YOUR PEOPLE SHOW UP FOR THE JOB?
What if I told you sleep deprivation isn’t just about feeling tired…
Long term sleep deprivation has been clinically linked to the three leading causes of first responder mortality (cancer, cardiac, and sadly su***de).
Short term sleep deprivation affects decision-making, reaction time, emotional regulation, physical recovery, and relationships.
And what if there were skills your people could learn to help them access deeper, more restorative states of sleep faster and more efficiently?
Not another lecture on “sleep hygiene.”
Not another PowerPoint.
Actual skills.
Skills to help the body downshift after high-stress calls.
Skills to process stress and trauma.
Skills to regulate the nervous system.
Skills to support deeper recovery.
Skills that can be practiced on the job, at home, and after the hardest days.
Would your department invest in that?
First Responder Sleep Recovery™ is a skills-based wellness training specifically developed for the realities of first responder life. (& First Responder owned and operated)
For more than a decade, we’ve been developing this work with first responders across the United States and Canada.
5,400+ first responders trained.
20 states + 3 Canadian provinces.
10+ years developing the program.
And we’re not finished.
Your people give everything to their communities.
Recovery is part of the job, too.
If you’re a fire chief, wellness coordinator, peer support leader, police leader, EMS leader, or department decision-maker, let’s have a conversation.
We often book 12–16 months in advance, but occasionally we can make short-notice opportunities happen.
📩 Reach out today.
Let’s talk about what wellness could look like for your department.

ASPEN POLICE TAKE WELLNESS SERIOUSLY. 🏔️👮♀️
What happens when we teach first responders that sleep isn’t just something that happens when the shift is over…
It’s a skill.
Aspen Police recently took part in a First Responder Sleep Recovery™ wellness program, learning practical tools to help the body and brain transition from high alert → deep recovery.
Through somatic practices, breathwork, meditation and sleep recovery education, we explored how to:
✨ Sleep more deeply and restoratively
✨ Downshift after high-stress calls
✨ Regulate the nervous system
✨ Support mental and physical resilience
✨ Recover so you can show up stronger for the next shift — and for life off the job
Because wellness for first responders shouldn’t be an afterthought.
Recovery is a performance skill. It supports operational safety, resilience and whole-person wellbeing.
And learning how to rest well is one of the most powerful performance tools we can give the people who spend their careers taking care of everyone else.
Thank you, Aspen Police, for making wellness a priority. ❤️
Train. Recover. Serve.
Thank you Aspen Police Departent !
