The Cook Out Summer Shootout at Charlotte has officially come to an end, and it's definitely one for the books.

The summer of 2026 has been the greatest summer yet. We made unforgettable memories, met so many amazing people, put our name out there, and achieved more than we ever imagined. Every lap, every race, and every challenge helped us grow as a team and as a driver.

We're incredibly proud of everything we accomplished this summer and thankful for everyone who supported us along the way. From our family and friends to our fans, sponsors, and the entire JLM Motorsports team, none of this would have been possible without you.

Now it's time to look back at an unforgettable summer.

There aren't enough words to say thank you to Jesse Martinez and JLM Motorsports.

At only 21 years old, Jesse has already become the kind of crew chief every young racer dreams of having. The countless late nights in the shop, the long days at the track, the nonstop preparation, and the dedication he puts into every race never go unnoticed.

People see the race results, but they don't always see the hours of hard work behind the scenes. Jesse is always working to make our car faster, teaching, encouraging, and giving 110% every single week. His passion for racing and commitment to the team are second to none.

Nicholas is incredibly lucky to have someone like Jesse in his corner. Having a crew chief who believes in him, pushes him to be better, and celebrates every accomplishment means more than words can express.

Thank you, Jesse, for your patience, your knowledge, your leadership, and your friendship. Thank you for every late night, every early morning, every adjustment, every lesson, and every sacrifice you've made to help Slick Nick chase his dreams.

We couldn't ask for a better crew chief or a better role model. The future is bright for JLM Motorsports, and we're proud to be a part of it.

We knew the weather was expected to roll in during round 10, and there was a chance the autograph session would be canceled, so we decided to head over to the grandstands early to spend some time with the fans.

Nick had an awesome time handing out hero cards and checkered flags, signing lots of autographs, and talking with so many racing fans. One of the highlights was running into some familiar faces from our go-kart racing days, including Nick Bishop.

It was truly great meeting so many new people, catching up with old friends, and seeing the support for Slick Nick continue to grow. Thank you to everyone who grab a hero card, and spend a few minutes with Nick.

🏁 Race Recap – Cook Out Summer Shootout Round 10 | 7/28/26 🏁

After the wreck in Round 9, we came into Round 10 determined to bounce back and finish the Summer Shootout on a high note.

With 35 cars in the field, Slick Nick qualified P9, locking himself into another A Main. When it was time to race, he knew he had work to do—and that's exactly what he did.

Nick made an impressive pass to take over 7th, but a caution came out before the lap counted, forcing him to give the position back. On the restart, he went right back to work and made the pass again. Not long after, he worked his way around two more cars, only for another caution to erase those hard-earned positions. Once again, he never gave up. He regrouped, made the passes all over again, and continued charging through the field.

When the checkered flag flew, Slick Nick had driven from P9 to an impressive P4 finish.

Of course, we would have loved to see how things played out without the cautions, but we're incredibly proud of the way Nick drove. He raced hard, and finished better than he started. That's a great way to close out the 2026 Cook Out Summer Shootout.

None of this would be possible without an incredible team behind us. A huge thank you to Jesse Martinez, Stephen Coleman, and Luis for everything you do at the shop and at the track. Your hard work and dedication never go unnoticed. JLM Motorsports will get the car back to Florida, tear it down, get it rebuilt, and have us ready for the next race.
