“I’m dropping the hammer” Days of Thunder (1990)

Alex gave the car a once over before last week’s feature. His inspection revealed the hood was in the wrong place. He cleared us to race only after putting it back in the appropriate location.

Thursday Thunder Round 10 Race Recap:

The car was decent right out of the box, but there was much to be desired in the drive off the corners. We knew much of this was due to running on practice tires, but we began searching for that extra grip with a few slight adjustments.

Qualifying - Sponsored by Buster Goss Body Shop
The car felt great during qualifying. We turned our fastest lap this year with a 16.615. This landed us 4th out of the 13 Chargers and was our best qualifying effort this season.

Feature
The car was great from the drop of the green. We managed to get to the inside line quickly and began looking for a way around the 3rd place car. The top 4 pulled away from the rest of the pack and was basically nose to tail for the entire race. The same thing happened after each caution and restart. We were able to pull along side of the 3rd place car a few times but was not able to complete the pass. We do believe if we had more green flag laps we could’ve made something happen, but we brought home a career best finish of 4th. We can’t say enough about those ahead of us though. This was the best, and cleanest race we have been part of despite how hard we were driving. Congrats to Mason Massey on his first feature win. He definitely earned it. We turned our fastest lap ever of 16.456.

Thursday Thunder Round 10 | Corey Wright #99 | EchoPark Speedway | 07/22/26 A very solid run to finish out this year's Thursday Thunder series....

We’re unloaded and have had a good night’s sleep. That doesn’t mean there’s downtime in the future! We’re already back at it in the shop getting ready for our next outing. We’re looking to improve on our career best finish, and the shop is where that’s done.

This evening I’ll post the race recap and try to have a few videos for you by tomorrow. We’re feeling good after yesterday’s performance but we aren’t done yet!

A nice qualifying run has us lining up 4th for our feature this evening. A few brief showers pumped the brakes on the evening, but the track is now dry and features are about to begin. Here we go!

It’s a hot one today at EchoPark Speedway, but we’re here for it. We made some adjustments and set our fastest time ever in morning practice. I think we still have little to tweak, but we’re headed in the right direction. Qualifying begins at 6.
