Yesterday, we had the privilege of recognizing those who make a difference in our community.

Jimmy Sollars was presented with an Outstanding Citizen Award for his heroic actions that helped save a man’s life following a critical incident.

We also welcomed Residents for Responders as they recognized three of our employees for their years of dedicated service to the Spring Valley Village Police Department.

Assistant Chief Lane has successfully completed the FBI-LEEDA Five Star Chief Executive Institute, one of the nation's most advanced executive leadership programs for law enforcement professionals.

This prestigious program is reserved for FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award recipients and brings together senior law enforcement leaders from across the country to strengthen strategic leadership, decision-making, and organizational excellence.

Congratulations to Assistant Chief Lane on this outstanding achievement and continued commitment to professional development and serving the Spring Valley Village community.

Our officers had a great time joining the community at Spectrum, Splash & Safety Day!
It was a wonderful opportunity to meet local families, connect with kids, and support an event focused on water safety and education. Thank you to Social Motion Skills, Village Fire, Dad's Club Aquatics, and everyone who helped make this event a success. We appreciate the chance to be part of such a meaningful day!

A weak tropical storm is expected to make landfall along the upper Texas coast later this afternoon or evening.

What to expect in our area:
• Minimal impacts are expected locally.
• Rainfall totals are expected to remain under 1 inch, with the heaviest rain staying well south of our area and primarily offshore.
• Wind gusts may increase later today, especially closer to the coast.
• Minor coastal flooding is possible in low lying coastal areas due to tides running 1 to 2 feet above normal.

While significant impacts are not expected in Spring Valley Village, we encourage everyone to stay aware, monitor local forecasts, and use caution if traveling, especially toward the coast.
