Dr. Matthews celebrated after two protective orders filed by Dr. Verna Caddie of Leaders Esteem University and Natalie Stewart, the mother of rapper Cartel Bo, were unsuccessful in Harris County court.
The decisions follow three previous protective order cases filed by Jenifer Knighton, Eric Sanchez and Knightonโs daughter, that were either dismissed or denied.
Dr. Matthews alleges the applicants are working together and in conjunction with Judge Curvey to file protective orders in the 280th District Court in an attempt to silence her on social media.
Her attorney, Adjua Rochelle Umoja-Justice, said social media disputes should be addressed through civil lawsuits instead of protective order courts.
A video sent in by a viewer shows HPD SWAT responding to the Ashford Court Apartments in west Houston yesterday for a barricaded suspect.
Details about the incident are unknown at this time.

Dr. Matthews holds a press conference outside the Harris County Courthouse following case dismissals
A driver was killed after a white Porsche went airborne and struck a pole along the South Loop in front of Pappasitos.
Investigators say the Porsche was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, struck a curb, and went airborne before crashing into a power pole.
The crash brought down lines across both directions of the South Loop, which caused the freeway to be shut down while CenterPoint worked to remove them.
A 49-year-old man suffered minor injuries from broken glass after someone opened fire on his truck during a road rage incident near Greenspoint last night.
The victim then drove to W Tidwell, where he flagged down an officer.
A 24-year-old woman and a 14-month-old baby were also inside but were not injured.
A man was hospitalized after he was shot in the chest and leg following an argument at an apartment complex exit gate on Bob White near West Bellfort last night.
Police say video shows the suspect driving past the victim and firing multiple shots before fleeing, and that the victim and suspect appeared to have known each other.
The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition, and the investigation remains ongoing.

After speaking with a witness this morning, I learned that three individuals waited for me to step away from my vehicle before walking behind it and photographing my license plate. (The witness also obtained the license plate number of the vehicle they were using, and that photo is below)
This comes after I began asking questions about a man who has been (allegedly) appearing at crash scenes to solicit victims and their loved ones for potential lawsuits. The man at the center of my investigation frequently wears a T-shirt bearing the name of what appears to be an inactive news website that may be used as a "front" in order to stay at crime scenes if questioned by first responders. (He does not wear this on scenes like Tuesday's fatal crash that was on a freeway, only on scenes that first responders may have a chance to question him.)

On Friday, I contacted the law firm that the man under investigation has said on social media he works for, as well as the State Bar of Texas. Both were given a deadline of Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, to respond.

One of those individuals was wearing the same news outlet T-shirt frequently worn by the man at the center of my investigation.
My goal was simply to stop him from coming to crash scenes and engaging in what I believe amounts to preying on vulnerable victims. Following this morningโs events, I plan to release my findings once the deadline passes.

Why are these kids taking a photo of my car?
An ICE pursuit that began in Montgomery County ended in a crash at the intersection of Veterans Memorial and Fallbrook Drive earlier today.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, an ICE agent cut his arm on glass while breaking the suspect vehicleโs driver-side window at another location.
The suspect vehicle later struck another car, causing it to flip and leaving its occupants with minor injuries. A passenger in the suspect vehicle refused medical services at the scene and later went to a hospital on her own.
The suspect, who had a final removal order, fled into a wooded area, and a Harris County Sheriff's Office K-9 deputy lost the scent.
HCSO has filed FSRA charges, and additional federal charges may be filed.

HCSO says deputies mainly responded to the crash and are filing failure to stop and render aid charges.
Federal agents are filing federal charges, but those were not specified.
