On December 31, 2020, after 20 years in operation, Emergency Chaplain Group was dissolved by majority vote of its board of directors.
Emergency Chaplain Network (an IRS Approved 501(c)3 non-profit) offers peer support, resiliency/post traumatic stress/suicide prevention training, emotional/spiritual support and chaplaincy services to First Responders in need. As a result, a replacement organization was immediately formed: Emergency Chaplain Network. New name, new leadership, new contact info, but the same mission to put the lives and wellbeing of First Responders and their families above all else.
Chaplain Paul taught a Stress Awareness class this week to New Hires at Aldine Fire & Rescue.

Chaplain Position
Be There for Those Who Are There for Us.
The Emergency Chaplains Network is seeking compassionate, faith-driven individuals to serve as Volunteer Chaplains, providing spiritual care, emotional support, and hope to our first responders and the communities they protect.
Position Summary
Emergency Chaplains respond alongside firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and other first responders during times of crisis, tragedy, and disaster. Chaplains provide a calming presence, compassionate care, and faith-based support to first responders, victims, and their families.
Responsibilities
Respond to emergency scenes when requested by fire, law enforcement, or EMS.
Provide emotional and spiritual support to first responders, victims, and their families.
Lead Bible studies, devotions, and faith-based encouragement for first responders.
Provide marriage, family, and relationship counseling and referrals.
Offer grief, loss, and crisis counseling following traumatic incidents.
Assist with death notifications and family support when requested.
Participate in department ceremonies, memorial services, and special events.
Build trusted relationships within local fire departments, law enforcement agencies, and emergency service organizations.
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism, and compassion.
Qualifications
Active chaplain or ordained/licensed minister in good standing.
Current or retired first responder (Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, Military, or Emergency Communications) preferred.
Strong Christian faith with a servant's heart.
Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and spiritually grounded during emergencies.
Commitment to serving first responders, their families, and the community.
Ability to pass a background check.
Chaplain training is preferred; additional training opportunities are available.
Time Commitment
Flexible volunteer schedule with on-call opportunities based on availability.
