Watching the light change
Against the windowsill
I am between breaths
Darkness waiting to fill
If it comes, let it be gentle
If I go with it, let me go
If I stay, let me awake
Tears fall on the windowsill

I’d like to invite you all to the showing of my most recent work, Where I Became the Sun
📆Feb 6 from 5-8pm at in Lockhart, TX.
Walking intoTerlingua as a hollow confused woman, and leaving understanding I had to let go of everything.
Because apparently the price of becoming is losing what you were, whether you choose that path or not.
Somewhere in that loss I found God, in the heat, the quiet, the light, the nothing.
Or maybe God found me.
Grateful for the artists who held that desert with me
🌵I hope to see you all there 🥰

“Aftermath”
There is only light
Light on skin
Caught in the hollow of morning
In a place I cannot name
A window that keeps opening
I lay inside it
I rest there
Falling without falling
Losing without losing
Laughter stirs as darkness flows
It goes on without me
This is the aftermath

“Areole”
My body heavy with weather
Morning arrived anyway
Quiet as dirt becoming garden
I woke still wanting
Motion without ruins
Whispers without borders
I pray for you
I pray for you

It burned itself out.
Faded into motion.
Remember the sound.
A heat I almost remember.
Somewhere in the desert.
A horse keeps running.
I have no where to go.
I fall into loneliness.

“Lost cowboy”
12:49
I drank myself blind
I stare at the door
How words used to come
I wonder
Can I turn myself under?
The door stays closed

“Borrowed”
The tide keeps rising,
through empty rooms.
Searching with borrowed hands.
Eyes that don’t stay.
Tracing my edges.
In the quiet.
In the space after tears.
I hear something.

“Black Rose”
I opened.
A rose caught fire in my own hands.
Smoke is filling the room,
till I could not see.
Feeling like the moth to the flame,
I opened.

“Desert Shadow”
Something followed me,
out from the sky
Sometimes I see her.
I try to remember.
I can’t remember.
The wind has shifted
Now, the smoke is rising.
Why didn’t you see me?
A shadow pulls.
Why didn’t you stop me?
