This week’s Friday Artist Feature highlights Dorothy Hood, a Texas-born artist raised in Houston and one of the most compelling voices in Texas and American Modernism.
Known for her large-scale abstract works, Hood created atmospheric compositions that explored memory, mythology, landscape, and the cosmos. Works such as Extensor of the Sky, Nebula at the Edge of Time, Chimera, and Night Forest reflect the scale, depth, and emotional intensity that define her practice.
Seen here in the Brutalist Penthouse, this Hood piece we sourced from McClain Gallery reflects what we value in collecting: provenance, cultural significance, and a lasting place in the larger conversation between art and architecture.

In the primary bath of our Piney Point project, every detail was treated as part of the architecture.
An integrated return air, floor-rising shades, and personal spaces for husband and wife allow the room to function beautifully without interrupting the design. At the center, a freestanding shower redefines the layout, turning a utilitarian element into a defining architectural feature.
Seamless, personal, and sculptural by design. We can’t wait to share the finished product.

The primary suite in our River Oaks project was designed as a quiet retreat from the pace of the day.
Wrapped in deep, nocturnal hues, the space feels grounding, atmospheric, and dreamlike. The bed becomes the softest focal point — almost cloudlike against the storm-toned palette — while subtle gold details add a quiet glimmer throughout.
For our clients, rest extends beyond sleep. Just beyond the bedroom, a separate television and reading room offers another place to unwind, read, and ease into stillness.

There’s beauty in the in-between.
While finished spaces often get the spotlight, much of a project’s success happens during construction. Through our Construction Administration services, we remain actively involved throughout the build process, providing oversight to help ensure that the design vision is executed as intended and important details aren’t lost along the way.
This phase is where drawings and renderings become reality—and where thoughtful collaboration with partners like brings a project to life.
